**About the Job:**
An opportunity has arisen for a **_Director of Engineering_** to join **_Engineering_** in **_Jumeirah Messilah Beach_** . The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
+ Lead all engineering and maintenance operations for the entire property, including plant, equipment, and building systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with Fire & Life Safety standards.
+ Develop and manage budgets (P.O.M.E.C. and CapEx), controlling costs, approving expenditures, and preparing 5–10 year maintenance and capital improvement plans.
+ Oversee and implement a robust Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program to maximize asset life cycle, minimize downtime, and ensure high operational standards.
+ Manage and motivate a multidisciplinary engineering team (Chief Engineer, Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, etc.), ensuring effective training, communication, and performance management.
+ Drive energy conservation and sustainability initiatives, monitoring energy usage, optimizing systems (BMS/CMMS), and preparing monthly engineering and energy reports.
+ Coordinate with other departments, external contractors, and government authorities for projects, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring smooth and cost-effective operations.
**About you:**
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC Engineering (or a Higher Diploma with equivalent professional certifications in engineering management or facilities management).
+ Minimum of 10 years of engineering leadership experience in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment, with proven supervisory responsibilities.
+ Expertise in Fire & Life Safety systems, HVAC, and building management systems (BMS), including preventive maintenance programs.
+ Strong financial and project management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and capital expenditure planning.
+ Experience in multicultural environments and Middle East operations, with excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
