About The Team And The Role:
We’re seeking a Director of Employee Communications to craft and implement internal communications strategy for the Growth Organization, aligning a distributed team!
This leader will support the Chief Growth Officer and Growth Leadership Team in communicating priorities and transformation efforts across Global Marketing, Global Customer Service, Global Analytics, Global Consumer Insights, and Global Communications — all of which are essential functions within the Growth Org! This role is critical in helping employees understand strategic direction, embrace new ways of working, and engage with eBay’s ambitious ambitions for AI-driven growth.
What You Will Accomplish:
Develop and drive a comprehensive internal communications strategy for the Growth Organization, tailored to evolving priorities and business goals.Partner with the Chief Growth Officer and senior leaders across Marketing, Customer Service, Analytics, Consumer Insights, and Communications to align messaging, encourage teams, and communicate change clearly and effectively.Translate complex topics — including AI transformation across business units and growth strategies — into clear, compelling communications that connect employees across fields and levels.Support change management initiatives by crafting thoughtful, scalable communications that foster adoption, clarity, and team cohesion.Build frameworks and rhythms that promote cultural consistency, reduce silos, and **improve** collaboration across globally distributed teams as eBay expands its global footprint.Support executive visibility and engagement through high-impact communications, including Global All Hands, Growth Director+ meetings, leadership messaging, video scripts, and internal campaigns.Partner with the People team, and key administrative and operations teams to support employee engagement, and organizational transformation as we continue to build a strong culture aligned with our DNA across the Growth Organization.Establish metrics and feedback loops to measure communications efficiency and advise strategy.Ensure consistency with eBay’s global brand, voice, and values across all internal touchpoints.What You Will Bring:
12+ years of experience in employee or executive communications, with a strong track record supporting senior leaders and large-scale organizational change.8+ years of leadership or people management experience.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field required.MS, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.Proven track record to communicate in high-growth, matrixed, and global organizations — preferably within the retail, ecommerce, or tech sectors.Experience collaborating across diverse functional areas (marketing, analytics, service, insights) and aligning communications for multiple executive collaborators.Strong skills in change management communications, especially around transformation and technology shifts.Outstanding storytelling, writing, and message development skills.Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.Experience managing complex communication programs from strategy through execution.#LI-GJP
The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below:
$190,400 - $254,200The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below:
$148,400 - $220,500Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
