Director of Communications
Job Description IMPACT OF THIS ROLE
Rosewood Hotel Group is looking for a Director of Communications to open our new ultra-luxury resort, Rosewood Blue Palace in Crete. This role will be responsible for spearheading the strategic direction and destination positioning, initiatives, planning and management of the resort’s integrated marketing, public relations, and holistic communications strategy. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing, they will create and communicate the hotel's vision and messaging to ensure overall continuity of brand consistency and image.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities) Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that will set the image and positioning for the resort. Ensure exceptional articulation of the desired image and position across all of the marketing and communications platforms, both internal and external. Oversight of the property’s content calendars including the planning, production and reporting, for all owned (website, social media, e-mail communication) and paid channels, ensuring alignment with Rosewood's Brand Expression Act as a representative for all media, influencers and KOLs. Proactively hosting media, including events and press trips. Responsible for all PR and/or social media agency management including the RFP processes, relationship management, and budgeting. Lead brand partnerships development with global guidelines and direction to enhance brand reach and visibility. Ensure all brand collateral, on and offline, is produced and kept updated in line with global Brand Guidelines. Oversee growth and management of all social media channels including strategy, planning, content production, reporting and performance. Ensure co-ordination with the digital marketing function on the implementation of paid media strategies to drive brand desirability and performance, ensuring all assets used are in line with the Brand Expression Responsible for all crisis communications management and mitigation. Present plans and results, monthly, quarterly and yearly to key stakeholders including corporate brand team, MD and DOSM. Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations, and use this information to help the property operate with initiative and an innovative mindset. Support T&C by internally promoting the hotel’s philosophy, mission, and vision. Team Through people leadership, provide others with a clear direction; motivate and empower others by delegating work appropriately and provide your team with development opportunities. Foster the development of an inspiring work environment for your team to build a creative and innovative mindset. Required SkillsA minimum of 10 years previous experience in hospitality and/or luxury and lifestyle marketing and communications. Excellent computer skills, including MS PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Excel and Word. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Fluent native speaker including verbal and written English. Ability to influence and manage key stakeholders. Team management and development skills. Strategic thinking and business acumen. Knowledge of the local market and/or regional landscape.
