SALARY
Competitive base salary plus performance bonus tied to portfolio and program KPIs.
JOB SUMMARY
This Director role combines **strategic leadership of a Cx program portfolio** with **hands\u2011on ownership of a flagship program** until a dedicated Program Manager (PGM) is recruited (target \u2264\u202F12\u202Fmonths). The Director will drive department growth, standardization, and client satisfaction while simultaneously acting as an interim PGM to safeguard flawless execution and financial performance on a critical project.
The Commissioning Director regularly interacts with senior leadership and executive staff on matters concerning functional area, division and / or clients. The Commissioning Director establishes operational objectives and converts strategic communication to tactical planning. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.
The Commissioning Director will be self-directed on day-to-day work and independently perform most responsibilities. Will lead project teams and projects of complex scope and broader programs. Will coordinate activities of other personnel. Assists in the development of policies and procedures.
The Commissioning Director will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leadership and Strategic Execution of the Commissioning Department (40%)
+ Grow and mentor a high\u2011performing team capable of supporting multiple concurrent Commissioning programs.
+ Translate organizational objectives into actionable roadmaps in coordination with other Director leadership and inter-departmental groups.
+ Maintain span\u2011of\u2011control targets: \u2264\u202F3 PGMs or 10 SrPMs per Director.
+ Partner with executive leadership on annual strategic planning, budgeting, and resource forecasts.
+ Shape and enforce playbooks, QA/QC standards, and safety protocols across the portfolio.
Interim Program General Manager \u2013 Flagship Project (\u2248\u202F0\u201312\u202Fmonths) (30\u202F%)
+ Assume full P&L ownership (~$6\u2013$20\u202FM) for the assigned flagship Commissioning program.
+ Maintain NSR \u2265\u202F46\u202F%.
+ Serve as primary client interface
+ Mentor SrPM/PM bench and identify a permanent PGM successor by Month\u202F9.
+ Transition day\u2011to\u2011day program leadership to new PGM within 12\u202Fmonths without performance dips.
Client Relationship & Business Development (15\u202F%)
+ Own executive\u2011level client engagements, steering quarterly business reviews and strategic road\u2011mapping.
+ Drive new work identification and proposal efforts; meet or exceed portfolio revenue targets.
+ Utilize CRM/ERP data to forecast backlog, resource needs, and profitability.
+ Collaborate with BD on scope, pricing, and risk analysis for pursuits.
Technology & Data\u2011Driven Decision Making (10\u202F%)
+ Leverage dashboards to identify emerging program risks and resourcing gaps.
+ Champion adoption of digital tools (Cx Alloy, BIM\u2011360, Power BI) to streamline field reporting and analytics.
+ Ensure data integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance with company IT policies.
+ Champion AI tools as an essential function of day-to-day work personally and of the group.
Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

+ Knowledge of operational management practices, including oversight of business units and performance optimization
+ Knowledge of technology integration, including tools, systems, and data analytics used to support operational and strategic decision-making
+ Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives concurrently
+ Skilled in client relationship management, including engagement strategies, feedback solicitation, and financial performance tracking

+ Skilled in analyzing operational and financial data, establishing reporting structures, and deriving actionable insights
+ Expert knowledge of ASHRAE guidelines, ISO\u202F9001, NFPA\u202F70E, and OSHA 30 requirements.

+ Travel may involve transportation by car or plane depending on the destination and nature of the business need.
+ Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meetings for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or related discipline (PE, CxA, or QCxP preferred)
OR
+ Two years' experience with installation, hands-on testing, validation and troubleshooting of mechanical, controls and / or electrical infrastructure
PLUS
+ Minimum thirteen years' additional experience in Commissioning/MEP project leadership with \u2265\u202F3\u202Fyears multi\u2011program oversight.
+ Demonstrated delivery of at least one $15\u202FM+ mission\u2011critical commissioning program
