Director of Clinical Services
The Clinical Services Director oversees inpatient clinical operations, staff management, and regulatory compliance, and the successful day-to-day clinical operations. The Director will be primarily responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and quality of clinic services, including direct supervision of licensed clinical staff. The Director will lead efforts to improve quality outcomes and clinic operations in a way that contributes to an enhanced patient experience. Will collaborate with other departments in providing trauma-informed care. Essential Duties: · Ensure quality care to patients by developing, implementing, and directing behavioral health treatment programs for inpatient services · Direct and oversee program operations, including budget management, and independent decision making for program requiring clinical expertise · Ensures that the most effective treatment approaches are utilized; developing new models of treatment · Monitors regulatory and clinical standards; productivity and quality assurance efforts, meet contractual reporting requirements and performance standards · Oversees certification site visit preparation, and program audit visits and reports · Facilitates critical incident reviews and staff debriefings · Provides leadership for initiatives to improve/maintain a positive work climate that is trauma-informed · Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation · Review caseloads regularly to ensure appropriate utilization of services · Develop and implement operating policies and procedures for Clinical Services · Ensure procedures and workflow are consistent with organizational objectives, treatment protocols, regulations, and standards of care · When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints · Review caseloads regularly to ensure appropriate utilization of services · Monitors licenses personnel to include recertification requirements and specialized training to support a robust programming · Develops and maintains management reports for senior leadership and medical staff as needed. + Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards. + Performs related duties, as requested. Requirements Education and/or Licensure – BSc/BA in clinical administration, medical science, psychology or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred. Texas Licensed LCSW, LMSW, or LPC required. Experience – 3 years of experience in an inpatient setting or other healthcare or medical setting. Experience in 2 years of supervisory experience. Understanding of programming development. Skills in case management, time management, and crisis intervention common to acute psychotic as well as to non-violent crises intervention practice. Knowledge of acute psychological disorders; advanced principals of abnormal psychology as specifically applied to adolescent and adults; familiarity with follow-up resource service available; skills in conducting marital and family group therapy. Additional Requirements – Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Must obtain and maintain approved CPR certification and Satori’s Alternatives to Managing Assaultive behavior training including restraint and seclusion policies prior to assuming patient care responsibility. Knowledge Skills and Abilities · Proven experience in a leadership position · Experience in clinical supervision and program management · Solid understanding of budgeting, resourcing, and performance evaluation procedures · Excellent knowledge of standards (e.g. ISO) and regulations for the clinical field · Proficient in MS Office and computer systems (e.g. patient management software) · Excellent communication and people skills · Exceptional organizational and leadership skills · Aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts · Ability to apply time management practices to prioritize, schedule and complete work effectively to comply with mandated policies and deadlines. · Ability to work on multiple tasks or parts of tasks simultaneously to ensure timely completion of work activities. · Must be able to work productively with other department heads and personnel. · Ability to work with professionals from many outside partners and organizations. · Usually works forty (40) hours per week, including weekends. · Exceptional follow through on tasks and assignments · Must possess leadership qualities and be able to supervise and secure the cooperation of staff. Individual must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and to be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. · Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks, as well as inspect and analyze. · Must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic; ability to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another · While worker may possibly be subjected to temperature changes, the worker is generally not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as the work is predominantly inside.
