Job Summary:

This role is responsible for delivering profitable growth on key standard product categories where the way we buy, are key to the company’s results. The successful candidate will implement procurement and pricing strategies based on supplier market analysis, category analysis as well as critical inputs from understanding the ever adapting market conditions.  The primary responsibility of the role is therefore leading and executing negotiations and the structure and administration of contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors and suppliers. The role ensures favorable terms and volume discounts are negotiated that comply with company policies and procedures, legal requirements and/or other specifications.


Principal Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains a deep knowledge of category products and markets, supplier costs and the impacts on company performance.Manages the activities and staff involved in strategic procurement of goods and execution of strategy in the field.Develops, documents, implements and coordinates procurement activities company-wide to maximize scale efficiencies and deliver industry-leading effectiveness. Ensures procurement strategy aligns with company strategy.Develops and negotiates contracts, and implements and monitors procurement processes to ensure efficient execution and best in class acquisitions. Minimizes the company's risk exposure to finance, audit and legal issues.Provides strategic procurement guidance and develops programs, policies and procedures to produce efficiencies and reduce expenses through strategic sourcing. Ensures compliance to formal sourcing/procurement policies and preferred supplier agreements. Directs, reviews, and approves all major sourcing decisions.Manages a team including providing oversight and direction for financial and operational activities.Other duties as assigned.

Accountable for the performance and results of a major function that has cross-organizational impact and is comprised of multiple departments and/or teams.Establishes policies appropriate for the function. Interprets and recommends modifications to enterprise-wide policies and practices. Adapts and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies. Responsible for efficient utilization of significant resources within the function.Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results assessed with a long-term perspective. Decisions are guided by functional strategy and priorities.Collaborates with senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the company. Routinely conducts briefings for senior management and/or key external contacts. Influences senior management or customers/clients.


Work Experience:

Typically 10+ years including 5+ years of management experience, ideally in large EMSI, or Electronic distribution.


Education and Certification(s):

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.


Distinguishing Characteristics:
