_Our client is a growing health science company focused on developing innovative solutions that support healthy aging. They are looking for a skilled Business Development Director to join their team!_
**Summary:**
The Business Development Director plays a critical strategic role in driving organizational growth through the identification and pursuit of new opportunities across clinical, pharmaceutical, and B2B sectors. This position is responsible for accelerating market expansion, cultivating strategic partnerships, and generating revenue through innovative service models, product launches, and diversified distribution channels.
**Location:** Los Angeles, CA
**Employment Type:** Full-time, remote/hybrid model (flexible)- with 30 -50% travel depending on if local or not
**Salary Range:** $180,000 – $200K base and commission
**Responsibilities:**
**Strategic Growth & Planning**
+ Lead the development and execution of business growth strategies targeting healthcare providers, clinical settings, and regulated pharmaceutical channels.
+ Identify and pursue partnerships across 503B outsourcing facilities, 503A compounding pharmacies, and clinical practice environments.
+ Analyze market dynamics, compliance trends, and industry drivers to inform go-to-market plans.
**Partnership & Market Development**
+ Build and manage strategic alliances with healthcare institutions, clinics, pharmacies, and distribution partners.
+ Oversee the full lifecycle of partnership development—from initial outreach to onboarding, training, and retention.
+ Establish new revenue streams for both in-clinic and at-home treatment models.
**Regulatory & Compliance Alignment**
+ Ensure all business development initiatives align with FDA, DEA, USP <797>/<800>, and state pharmacy regulations.
+ Collaborate with regulatory and quality teams to proactively address compliance risks.
**Cross-functional Collaboration**
+ Serve as a bridge between business development and internal teams such as R&D, Legal, Marketing, and Product.
+ Align commercial strategy with technical, operational, and compliance considerations.
**Industry Representation**
+ Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to build credibility, identify opportunities, and strengthen professional networks.
**Reporting & Performance Tracking**
+ Define and track key performance indicators related to market expansion, partnership growth, and revenue performance.
+ Report pipeline activity, deal progress, and revenue forecasts to executive leadership.
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA preferred.
+ 8–10 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic sales, or partnerships.
+ 3–5 years of leadership or team management experience.
+ Experience in highly regulated industries such as biotech, pharmaceuticals, or nutraceuticals is strongly preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to structure and negotiate high-value deals.
+ Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
+ Deep understanding of compliance frameworks relevant to pharmaceutical and clinical distribution.
+ Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while driving commercial growth.
+ Track record of scaling clinical or pharmaceutical partner networks.
+ Proficiency in aligning strategic initiatives with operational, compliance, and patient care objectives.
+ Skilled in identifying new market opportunities and converting them into sustainable revenue streams.
