Overview Position Summary: The Director of Beach Operations is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of all beach-related amenities, services, and personnel. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences through operational excellence, a strong safety culture, environmental stewardship, and personalized beachside hospitality. The Director will lead a dynamic team including beach attendants, tram cart drivers, and Food & Beverage Staff. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: · Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing beach operations team. · Set service standards aligned with the resort’s brand and guest expectations. · Schedule and coordinate daily team operations, ensuring adequate staffing for peak periods and events. · Foster a culture of guest-centric service, professionalism, and accountability. Guest Experience & Resort Integration: · Oversee the delivery of elevated beachside services, including chair and cabana setup, food & beverage coordination, and water sports activities. · Collaborate with the F&B, Spa, Concierge, and Events teams to provide seamless beach experiences. · Handle VIP requests, guest feedback, and service recovery promptly and professionally. Safety & Compliance: · Lead emergency response planning and drills, serves as the primary point of contact for beach-related incidents. · Maintain all safety equipment, signage, and protocols in accordance with Florida Department of Health and resort standards. Operations & Facility Management: · Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of all beach facilities, including restrooms, walkways, cabanas, and equipment storage. · Coordinate with engineering, housekeeping, and groundskeeping teams to maintain pristine beach conditions. · Monitor and manage inventory for beach supplies, recreational equipment, and uniforms. Environmental Stewardship: · Implement eco-conscious practices in line with local environmental guidelines and resort sustainability goals. · Liaise with coastal management authorities to ensure responsible use of beach areas and marine ecosystems. · Organize and participate in beach cleanups, sea turtle protection efforts, and environmental awareness initiatives. Budget & Reporting: · Develop and manage the department’s annual operating budget. · Track KPIs, guest satisfaction scores, and operational performance for regular reporting to executive leadership. · Identify opportunities for revenue growth through beach services, rentals, and special programming. Qualifications Education & Experience: · 5 years of progressive leadership experience in F&B operations, beach or recreation management, preferably in a resort environment. · First Aid certifications required. · Serve Safe Certified Preferred: · Previous experience working at a Florida coastal resort or private club. · Knowledge of Florida beach regulations, coastal permitting, and sea turtle nesting laws. Skills & Attributes: · Exceptional leadership, communication, and guest service skills. · Calm and confident decision-maker in high-pressure or emergency situations. · Comfortable working long hours outdoors in a beachfront environment. · Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities. --- Compensation: · Competitive base salary + annual performance bonus · Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off · Resort discounts and access to amenities --- Work Schedule: · Full-time with weekend, holiday, and peak-season availability required · On-call availability for emergencies and special events
