As the Director of Enterprise Architecture for our Core Lending Platform, you will be at the helm of the technology architecture strategy and execution for a multi-year, company-wide transformation. This initiative is focused on replacing our legacy originations and receivables systems – the absolute lifeblood of Ford Credit's operations. You will lead a talented team of enterprise architects, providing the strategic direction and architectural guidance necessary to build a modern, scalable, resilient, and compliant core lending platform. This role demands deep technical expertise, exceptional leadership, a strong understanding of financial services, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while fostering collaboration across business, product, and engineering teams. We are looking for a true transformational leader ready to make a lasting impact on our company's future. **What you'll do...** + **Define and Drive Architectural Vision:** Develop and champion the long-term enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap for the new core lending platform, aligning it closely with Ford Credit's business objectives and overall technology strategy. + **Lead and Mentor a High-Performing Team:** Manage, mentor, and grow a diverse team of 15-20 enterprise architects (both onshore and offshore), fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. + **Oversee Complex Architecture Design:** Provide hands-on guidance and oversight on the design of critical architectural components, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, highly available, and meet stringent performance and compliance requirements. + **Navigate Regulatory and Compliance Landscape:** Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure the platform's architecture inherently supports and facilitates adherence to complex financial regulations (e.g., data privacy, reporting requirements, consumer protection). + **Spearhead Integration Strategy:** Define and govern the integration architecture strategy for connecting the new platform with a vast ecosystem of internal Ford systems, external partners, data sources, and downstream applications. Integration excellence is paramount. + **Drive Technology Adoption:** Provide architectural guidance and influence technology choices, leveraging modern cloud-native patterns and relevant technologies including GCP, Big Query, and Vertex AI. + **Build and Nurture Relationships:** Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including senior business leaders, product managers, engineering directors, operations teams, and external vendors. Influence and build consensus across competing priorities. + **Guide Transformation Execution:** Work closely with program management and engineering teams to translate architectural vision into actionable plans, providing architectural governance and oversight throughout the multi-year implementation lifecycle. + **Manage Technical Debt and Roadblocks:** Identify potential architectural risks, technical debt, and roadblocks, developing strategies to mitigate them effectively. **You'll have…** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree preferred. + 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role managing large teams (10+ architects). **Even better, you may have...** + Proven track record of successfully leading the architecture for large-scale, complex technology transformations, ideally involving the replacement of core business systems. + Deep experience within the financial services industry is required. + Experience in captive auto finance (originations, servicing, collections, receivables) is highly preferred. + Strong understanding of the lending lifecycle from application to payoff. + Extensive experience with cloud architecture, specifically on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). + Experience with data architecture principles and technologies, including big data platforms like Big Query. + Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and platforms like Vertex AI. + Demonstrated expertise in designing complex integration architectures (APIs, event streaming, data integration patterns). + Experience managing both onshore and offshore architecture and engineering teams. + Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. + Strong understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to financial services (e.g., SOX, data privacy, consumer protection). + Ability to think strategically while also being able to dive into technical details. + Proven ability to build consensus and drive decisions in a complex, matrixed organization.
