Director of Application Engineering
Are you a technically driven Director of Application Engineering ready to lead and grow? Join our Houston, TX Leadership Team to oversee a global engineering group delivering custom low-voltage power distribution, control, lighting, and heat trace solutions using Appleton products. You will drive design processes, technology, and team development to rapidly execute engineer-to-order products, ensuring all solutions meet global certification and safety standards. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Own the selection, configuration, and assembly of Appleton and third-party low-voltage electrical components (e.g., circuit breakers, bus bars, connectors) into hazardous- and industrial-rated enclosures. + Ensure all designs meet NEC, IEC, and other global codes and standards, including accurate component ratings, wiring ampacity, and proper enclosure fit. + Be responsible for the creation and technical accuracy of engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs released into Oracle for manufacturing. + Provide high level technical review and approval of designs, acting as the chief engineer and ensuring compliance with certification and safety requirements. + Develop and improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize team performance and improve speed, accuracy, and consistency of engineer-to-order solutions. + Support technical customer interactions, helping sales define product solutions, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure manufacturability and timely delivery. + Manage and develop Application engineering standards and best practices across all groups within Appleton Group + Evaluate efficiency, capacity, and staffing metrics to optimize operations. **Who You Are:** You promote a sense of urgency and establishes and implements individual’s accountability in the team.
