General Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Individual Giving, the Director of Annual Giving is responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive annual giving program.  This position is responsible for growing philanthropic support through strategic acquisition, retention, and expansion of the donor base, with a particular focus on digital fundraising, events, employee giving, and annual appeals. This position works closely with all members of the development team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Requires Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive non-profit fundraising experience in annual giving and digital fundraising. Work requires knowledge of fundraising theories, principals, concepts, techniques, program planning, and evaluation. Strong understanding and experience of annual giving and digital fundraising best practices, donor acquisition and retention, reporting and data-driven fundraising. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, digital fundraising platforms, and donor analytics tools. Strong project management experience from planning to delivery stages. Exceptional communication, problem-solving and conceptual skills. Work requires problem solving and conceptual skills sufficient to make recommendations and implement fund raising strategies. Work requires strong oral and written communication skills, superior interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a wide variety of Sheppard Pratt employees, physicians, and donors, and the excitement and ability to speak knowledgeably and persuasively on behalf of Sheppard Pratt to potential donors and patient families. Work requires meeting deadlines, responding promptly to donor requests for information, and managing the demands of multiple projects. Work requires advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and the ability to learn to use Raiser’s Edge fundraising software. Some evening and weekend work required for development events.
