Director of Accounts Payable

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Accounts Payable to lead our global AP operations with a focus on automation, innovation, and compliance. This leadership role requires deep expertise in end-to-end accounts payable processes, including automation solutions such as virtual card payments and payment automation platforms. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, ensure strong internal controls, and partner across departments to optimize payment strategies, enhance vendor relationships, and support scalability in a fast-paced environment. **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead the Accounts Payable function, managing day-to-day operations across domestic and international entities. + Oversee timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor setup while ensuring compliance with internal policies and SOX controls. + Coordinate closely with Treasury and provide input into the cash flow forecasting process. + Improve how we communicate with and responsiveness to Sabre-wide stakeholders, perform training, establish and improve reference documentation + Implement and manage advanced payment solutions such as virtual cards, e-payables, ACH automation, and digital wallets to drive cost savings and efficiency. + Participate and lead impactful business projects as they arise such as addressing changing business models and supporting system enhancements. + Partner with Procurement, Treasury, and IT to evaluate and leverage existing scalable AP technologies and vendor payment platforms (e.g., Coupa, SAP Kyriba and ChromeRiver). + Manage AP team performance, provide training and mentorship, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. + Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and international payment requirements, including 1099 reporting and government sanctions. + Lead and support AP-related audits, including SOX and external financial audits. + Monitor KPIs and measure end-to-end process performance, efficiency and quality. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred. + 10+ years of progressive AP experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience successfully managing remote team members and able to manage across multiple time zones. + Experience in a global payments environment with an understanding of best in class tools and processes + Proven experience with implementing virtual payments, digital payment platforms, and/or merchant of record frameworks. + Strong systems expertise: ERP (e.g. SAP, BRIM), AP automation tools, and Excel. + Demonstrated success leading AP process transformations and system implementations. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across finance, procurement, and operations teams. + Deep understanding of compliance requirements related to payments, tax reporting, and regulatory filings. **Preferred Skills:** + Experience in high-growth, tech-enabled, or e-commerce environments. + Familiarity with international payment processing and foreign exchange considerations. + Knowledge of FinTech payment partners and embedded finance technologies. **Sabre Offers The Following Outstanding Benefits** + Very competitive compensation + Generous Paid Time Off (25 PTO days) + 4 days (one day/quarter) Volunteer Time Off (VTO) + 5 days off annually for Year-End Break + We offer a comprehensive medical, dental and Wellness Program + 12 weeks paid parental leave + An infrastructure that allows flexible working arrangements + Formal and informal reward, recognition and acknowledgement programs + Lots of fun and engaging employee development events Reasonable Accommodation Sabre is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to applicants with disabilities.
