Description
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Accounting to lead our accounting, financial planning, and administrative functions in Commerce, California. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the company’s financial health, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, cost management, and leadership, along with the ability to oversee IT and HR strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the accounting, budgeting, and financial planning processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with corporate policies and standards.
• Manage cash flow, cost accounting, and financial risk assessments to optimize company resources.
• Establish and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to maintain financial integrity and compliance.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to analyze costs and improve operational performance.
• Oversee external audits, tax preparation, and maintain strong relationships with banking partners.
• Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and ensure robust cybersecurity measures.
• Supervise the maintenance of IT infrastructure and the management of organizational systems and data.
• Create and execute HR strategies that support business goals and ensure compliance with employment laws.
• Ensure the HR department operates effectively and aligns with the company’s policies and strategic direction
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Proficient in month-end close processes and financial statement audits.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, including standard and operational cost analysis.
• Experience working in manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with QAD or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate across departments.
