Director of Accounting
Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to join a dynamic and growing manufacturing organization in Columbus, Indiana. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial reporting, compliance, and management within the healthcare industry. The position requires a meticulous leader who can oversee key accounting functions and drive strategic financial initiatives. Responsibilities: • Lead and manage month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. • Oversee the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP. • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audits and resolve financial discrepancies. • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management through comprehensive financial reporting. • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and growth. • Manage tax filings and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. • Implement best practices in financial management to optimize efficiency and accuracy. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department to enhance processes. Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in accounting roles, including leadership positions. • CPA certification is required. • Strong knowledge and application of US GAAP principles. • Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial statement audits. • Background in financial reporting within the manufacturing sector. • MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
