Job Overview Reporting directly to the Chairman, CEO and President, COO, this position provides leadership and coordination of network's financial planning, accounting and budget management functions, ensuring that accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and corporate practices. Partners with Corporate CFO to perform financial activities that facilitate good internal controls and meaningful and timely financial reporting, analysis and budgeting. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and corporate policies. Partners with the Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Human Resources Team, serving as employees' first point of contact for HR administration; including completion of employment paper work, recruitment and onboarding. Ensure policies and procedures are administered consistently and in compliance with applicable Federal and State Laws. Job Responsibilities Finance and Accounting + Provides effective leadership to the Finance Department, overseeing daily operations. Manages staff of one. + Coordinates monthly closing, requiring accurate journal entries, preparation of statements and analysis and reconciliation and report of balance sheet accounts. + Prepares annual budget in coordination with Department heads, COO, CEO and HBI Corporate Office. + Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budgets, forecasts, and historical data + Direct and coordinates the network's accounting and financial planning and budget management functions. + Maintain internal controls and integrity for all accounting systems and transactions. + Review, evaluate, and approve all expenses (purchase requisitions, payroll, contracts, invoices, employee expenses and capital expenditure). Payroll + Maintain proficiency in ADP, and support employees and managers in optimizing use of ADP + Process biweekly timekeeping and payroll. + Ensure all payroll functions and activity are being accurately recorded, reported and accounted for both in ADP and GL (e.g., expenses, vacations, bonuses, taxes, deductions, sick time) Human Resources + Serve as "point person" with Corporate Human Resources and ensure communication and administration of Company policies and practices, including timekeeping, job postings, new employee orientation, benefits administration, and employee performance reviews. + Administer and monitor the recruitment and selection process to ensure employment opportunities are widely disseminated within the appropriate communities against established criteria to identify qualified applicants. + Develop and deliver orientation for new employees including but not limited to: offer letters when required, completion of appropriate forms/documentation; introduction of new employees to staff; benefits and pay overview; ADP/phone/internet training, and safety review. Assure that new hire processes, status changes and enrollments are completed accurately and in a timely manner, consistent with HBI's requirements. Other Important Functions + Maintain security and confidentiality of all company processes, data and information. + Provide leadership and direction to accounting team + Provide appropriate and timely support to managers/supervisors regarding all aspects of employment. + Assist in addressing performance issues and resolving departmental conflicts as needed. Work with managers to issue discipline when warranted. Work with Department head, COO, CEO and Corporate Human Resources to recommend employment termination decisions. + Other duties as needed. Qualifications + Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. + Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting position. + Depth of knowledge of finance, General Ledger accounting, short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. + Demonstrated knowledge of automated financial and accounting and payroll reporting systems. + Strong computer skills are essential. Top-notch competency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (or equivalent) and PowerPoint is required. Job demands extensive report writing, data analysis, and computerized information exchange. Familiarity with internet resources and navigation preferred. + Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. + Previous experience with electronic timekeeping and payroll (e.g., ADP) preferred + Ability to ensure all pertinent HR Department documentation is appropriately handled + Proven ability to receive, process, and maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the stations. + Demonstrated perseverance and ability to get along with a broad range of personalities. Excellent interpersonal skills along with quick and clear thinking required. Project an appropriate professional demeanor. Physical Requirements Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate computer keys and general office equipment (telephone, copier, calculator, etc.) for extended periods of time. Ability to hear and speak clearly and follow both oral and written direction. Requires the ability to think critically, strategically, analytically, logically and tactically and to articulate information that may be complex in clear, concise manner to others. Ability to gather and organize large amounts of data and search for patterns and connections. Sits for extended periods of time. Compensation and Benefits When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate's work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity and other market and business considerations. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000.
