About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Accessibility to lead our company's efforts in creating inclusive and accessible products, services, and experiences for everyone. This is a critical role that will impact how we design, develop, and deliver our offerings to ensure they can be used by people with a wide range of abilities and disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive accessibility strategy: Define a strategy to achieve accessibility at scale, establish goals and objectives, and create a roadmap for implementation across all departments and products. Champion accessibility awareness: Educate and train employees at all levels on accessibility principles, guidelines, and best practices. Foster a culture of inclusivity and awareness throughout the organization. Provide expert guidance: Collaborate with product managers, designers, developers, and content creators to integrate accessibility into every stage of the product lifecycle, from conception to launch and beyond. Build relationships and partnerships: Collaborate with accessibility organizations, advocacy groups, and industry experts to stay informed and contribute to the broader accessibility community. Represent accessibility with Concur and SAP leadership and clients: Advocate for accessibility initiatives and prioritization across the company, and represent Concur in executive and client conversations regarding accessibility. Monitor and report on progress: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accessibility and report on progress to leadership. Enforce accessibility standards: Ensure compliance with relevant accessibility guidelines and regulations, such as WCAG 2.x (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). Coordinate accessibility audits and testing: Coordinate the gathering of assets to have existing and new products, services, and evaluated for accessibility barriers and drive teams to remediate any issues found. Manage accessibility-related documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation on accessibility policies, procedures, and resources. Stay informed on the latest trends: Continuously research and monitor emerging accessibility technologies, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in product development: Expertise in software development workflows, preferably in agile environments. Mobile app experience is desirable. Deep understanding of accessibility: Proven knowledge of accessibility principles, guidelines (WCAG, Section 508, EN 301 549), and assistive technologies. Knowledge of accessibility testing and auditing: Understands how accessibility evaluations are conducted using a combination of manual and automated testing. Strong communication and collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate accessibility concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Leadership and influence: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others to prioritize and achieve accessibility goals. Executive presence: Ability to work effectively across groups and leaders at every level. Strategic thinking and planning: Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive accessibility strategy aligned with business objectives. Passion for inclusion: A genuine commitment to creating accessible and inclusive experiences for everyone. Experience with different disability types: Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with various disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological differences.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 192,500 - 420,000 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
