The pay range is $131,000.00 - $236,000.00

Working within Tax, your mission will be to drive value-added work and support our core retail business goals. Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.
As **Director of International Tax** , you will lead a team of experts responsible for the compliance, accounting, planning and controversy of Target’s international tax function. This includes ensuring international taxes are timely and accurately reported in tax filings, financial forecasts, and financial statements while establishing and enforcing controls for tax processes. Using internal analysis and external benchmarks, you will support Target’s business strategies and new business initiatives by providing thoughtful insights and responsive support to your partners. You will set the strategy to evaluate international tax opportunities and legislative changes, lead through implementation, and defend Target’s tax positions while maintaining strong relationships with external taxing authorities. You will play an integral role in communicating our tax vision, setting goals and defining measures of success for your team, while also working with your peers as a member of the Tax Leadership group to build broader team engagement through skills development and training for the entire Tax team.
In this role, you will work closely with Target in India, global Owned Brand Sourcing and Development teams, Accounting, Finance, Government Affairs and Legal as an integrated business partner supporting Target initiatives, establishing shared priorities, and advocating Target’s tax positions. You will also work with your team to manage a portfolio of external advisors, including measuring and reporting advisor performance, and achieving planned outcomes within budget. This role requires international tax expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for driving outcomes. These skills will support your work to deliver on expense minimization, development of future tax leaders, and ensure regulatory compliance obligations are met using controlled and efficient processes.

**About you:**
+ 10+ years of International Tax experience with a national public firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop top talent and motivate a team through a shared sense of purpose
+ Independently drive accountability, instill confidence, and influence outcomes
+ Highly organized, with the ability to adapt, prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks or projects in response to changing or competing priorities
+ Proven decision making and analytical/problem solving skills
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills advocating for tax matters both internally and with external auditors
+ Strong business acumen and customer focus including ability to clearly articulate technical matters and financial statement impacts
+ Experience with SAP, OneSource, and data analytics tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI, or DOMO is preferred
