Summary Description: The Director of Systemwide Equity reports directly to the Chief Equity and Development Officer (CEDO). The Director supervises and directs the work of the Systemwide Equity Unit, and in alignment with the Board of Education?s Strategic Plan, coordinates the district-wide goal of becoming an antiracist, equitable, and inclusive school district where outcomes are not predictable by race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. The director collaborates with senior leadership, leaders from all departments and schools, and stakeholder groups to strategically support system-wide implementation of findings and recommendations from the Antiracist System Audit; and ensures, implements and improves equitable practices across the district. Supports, represents and works collaboratively with the CEDO to develop and improve systemwide strategies to further the mission of the unit. Physical Demands: None. Special Requirements: Attendance at evening Board of Education and other school system meetings.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:
A thorough understanding of antiracism, equity, inclusion, and organizational change, and how these concepts and practices relate to Pre-K-12 education. Demonstrated knowledge and experience: implementing a safe and productive organizational culture to co-create antiracist, equitable, and inclusive practices and policies with leaders, staff, students, families, and community members; creating effective adult learning; coaching district and school-based leaders; communicating to diverse audiences; and facilitating groups with diverse experiences and beliefs. Possesses excellent skills in program and personnel evaluation and human relations. Beliefs and actions reflect the mission, vision, and core values of the district. This position requires the knowledge and application of the six leadership standards established for the Montgomery County Association of Administrators and Principals Administrative and Supervisory Professional Growth System.
Education Training Experience:
Master?s degree from an accredited college or university in education, educational leadership, public administration, or a related field. Five years of administrative and/or supervisory experience required and two years of successful teaching experience, preferably in K-12 education. Training, coursework, and/or experience with antiracism, equity, and inclusion. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.Certificate License: Meets Maryland certification requirements for Administrator I certification. Completion of Observing and Analyzing Teaching I or II, or completion within one-year of the position start date.
