Job Title: Director - Human Resources
Location: East Hanover, NJ
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: $110,000 to $120,000 annually
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources with a strong background in HR operations. This individual must be able to lead a team of 6 individuals serving more than 600 full- and part-time staff operating at various sites throughout northern New Jersey as well as in the community. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in HR operations, including experience with HRIS systems (ADP preferred), recruiting, onboarding, and compliance
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead, mentor, and manage the HR team to ensure effective execution of HR policies, processes and initiatives.
+ Ensure the HR team has or develops the requisite skills to maximize use of the HRIS system.
+ Implement and monitor HR policies and procedures that support the Agency’s objectives, implements efficiencies, promotes a positive work environment and ensures alignment with legal requirements and best practices.
+ Evaluate and if necessary revamp the recruitment process to ensure ongoing communications with the hiring departments and that vacancies are kept to a minimum.
+ Develop an efficient system to ensure the department responds to inquiries from employees in a timely manner.
+ Assess and recommend any changes to the current policies and procedures related to paid time off.
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive employee recognition and retention program
+ Support employee retention through an ongoing educational campaign to make employees aware of critical benefits, including medical and dental and 401k.
+ Assess and if necessary revise the agency’s approach to the administration of workers’ compensation to ensure cost containment measures are in place.
+ Manage and mitigate HR-related risks through proactive risk management strategies
+ Analyze HR metrics and prepare reports to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) preferred.
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience in HR management, with a focus on operational functions.
+ Proficiency in ADP Workforce Manager and Workforce Now systems, as well as MS Office Suite.
+ Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
+ Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing HR teams.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
