The Director of Product Management, Move Money and Payments leads a team responsible for the end-to-end management of all of Schwab’s payments and money movements offerings to clients. These offerings include a range of payments mechanisms, including but not limited to: ACH, Wire Transfers, Internal Transfers, Instant Payments, BillPay, Debit Cards, Credit Cards, and P2P (Zelle). These client offers span Schwab’s legal entities (e.g., bank and broker-dealer), as well as lines of business (e.g., Investor Services & Advisor Services), through a range of channels (e.g., Schwab.com, Mobile App, Schwab Advisor Center, phone, rep platforms).

The Director will play an integral role in shaping the future of all money movement offers for Schwab, driving growth, creating operational efficiencies, deepening client engagement at scale, and serving the firm’s mission of improving clients’ financial outcomes.

 

The Director of Product Management, Move Money and Payments is a new role responsible for a new team being built out to support the full breadth of Schwab’s client-facing payments / move money offerings.

Responsibilities include:

Overall product strategy (e.g., enhancements to fill gaps, create efficiencies, or drive growth), client and field-facing representative experience design, offer positioning and channel management, as well as ensuring the offers comply with regulatory obligations. Working across a wide range of stakeholders to set a clear roadmap, design core experiences, define requirements, and prioritize business needs. Lead product design and risk management, partnering with Investor Services, Advisor Services, Operational Services and Technology to support the creation of any enhancements that enable the end vision and minimize risk to the firm. Drive strategic alignment and priority for emerging move money and payment capabilities to differentiate and ensure competitive parity. Develop a deep understanding of the competitive environment, current state gaps, client needs and align with Schwab’s long-term strategy to develop a client journey and build business cases.Own and manage several strategic firm vendor relationships. The role requires regularly developing compelling, clear presentations for senior leadership to influence the strategic direction of the client experience. What you have

Required:

Bachelor’s degree 3+ years in Product Management leadership roles7+ years relevant experience in financial services, with specific expertise in payments / move money products and/or systems.5+ years building, developing, and managing diverse, engaged, high-performing teams.Familiarity with product development lifecycle and agile practices to build exceptional client experiences and drive measurable outcomes.Ability to make significant progress with minimal direction and to make decisions, pivot, and structure pathways forward in the face of ambiguity.Experience in successfully gathering data and synthesizing insights to understand client needs, attitudes, and emotions and inform design and positioning of products and services.Leadership and relationship-building skills, including ability to influence and build consensus across all areas of the firm and all levels of the organization.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively present to all levels of the organization, including senior management.

Preferred:

MBA preferred.
