About the role
Purpose of this role: As Director Group Reporting, you will be the center of our external financial reporting as a public-listed company at the Frankfurt stock exchange. We are committed to excellence in external reporting, and you will foster strong collaboration across departments to ensure comprehensive and reliable external financial reporting. This role also involves leading the enhancement of the Group’s internal control system and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. External Financial Reporting & Compliance
Pivotal role in preparing quarterly, interim, and full-year external financial reports in compliance with public listing regulatory requirementsCentral role in the preparation of the Annual ReportResponsibility for the Group’s combined Management ReportContribute to the preparation of financial communication to external parties (e.g., analyst presentations)Following changes in regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance in external reportingKey contact for external auditors2. Internal Control & Accounting Governance
Responsibility for the continuous development of the internal control system / financial control framework and related documentationSupporting the continuous documentation of the Group’s accounting practices3. Process Improvement & Systems
Drive continuous improvement of group reporting processes and workflowsParticipate in central Finance projects4. Leadership & Team Management
Manage and develop a small team in Berlin5. Stakeholder Management & Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with various teams across the Group to shape and ensure robust financial reportingWork closely with the Group CFO, other Board Members, and Group managementEngage with business units to understand developments and provide insightCoordinate with external auditors6. Special Projects & Ad-hoc Responsibilities
Manage special projects and ad-hoc requestsRequirements & Experience:
Qualifications:
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, finance, business administration, or a related fieldExperience working with a Big Four audit firm is a plusProfessional Experience:
At least 7 years of working experience in external financial reporting in a leading role within an international GroupExperience in supervising or leading a team in an international environmentProven experience in developing and implementing internal control systems and frameworksExperience with consolidation and reporting softwareExperience in sustainability/ESG reporting is a plus (e.g., CSRD compliance)Exposure to financial risk reporting, scenario analysis, and stress testing is advantageousPrior experience in a public company is highly valuedSkills & Competencies:
Cross-cultural communication skills and ability to work in a multinational settingStrong knowledge of IFRS; solid knowledge of German commercial law (HGB)Strong analytical capabilitiesMotivating leadership personality with a hands-on and problem-solving mentalityHigh level of engagement and initiativeSkilled communicator and effective team playerAbility to communicate effectively with executive leadership and convey complex financial information clearlyStrong presentation and communication skills; able to interact effectively with senior finance and business leadersProficiency in Microsoft OfficeStrong command of both English and GermanThe position is offered in Berlin, based on a hybrid working model and, on a full-time, permanent basis.
