Director - Geisinger School of Nursing - Registered Nurse

Job Duties Manage overall operation of the GSON ADN Program in accordance with the policies and standards of the Geisinger School of Nursing (GSON), Geisinger College of Health Sciences (GCHS), Geisinger, the PA State Board of Nursing, and national accreditation agencies. Ensure the promotion of high academic and professional standards through the successful delivery of the curriculum, including planning, management, pedagogy, student assessment and evaluation. Oversees curricular outcomes and works closely with the faculty, staff, and students to ensure that the curriculum is effective and undergoing iterative quality improvement to produce highly skilled, competent, and professional nurses with a strong foundational base to practice. This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) and a Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license is required. A minimum of 5 years healthcare experience is also required. Job Duties: + Plan, organize, and direct the effective administration of the school, including faculty, staff, and the student body, in accordance with established objectives, standards, policies, and procedures of the controlling institution and all applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies. + Interpret and apply administrative policies in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards, providing edits as necessary in relation to the evolution of the school. + Maintain all documentation required for regulatory and accreditation standards and maintain communication with these agencies as the identified program administrator. Ensure all school processes and procedures are in adherence to current regulatory and accreditation standards by strategic ongoing evaluation. Determine and implement action plans to maintain these standards. + Manage the continuous evaluation and improvement of the curriculum based on desired outcomes and emerging needs. This process will include routine needs assessment, reviews and modification of instructional content, pedagogy, learner assessment, and course evaluation. + Assist in preparing and maintaining the budgetary expenditures within GCHS fiscal guidelines. + Oversee faculty assignments and ensure adequate number of qualified faculty and personnel necessary to support student body enrollment and the successful operation of the GSON. + Maintain liaison between vendors and affiliate learning institutions. + Maintain required documentation an ensure adherence to FERPA and confidentiality of all applicable school records. + Represent the school and the nursing education mission by leading or participating on educational and administrative committees and subcommittees of GSON, GCHS, and Geisinger. + Promote and participate in scholarly activities related to student learning, innovative programs, and nursing education improvement. + Provide mentoring, training, and support for GSON faculty and staff. Provide and support professional development opportunities to enhance educational delivery skills and scholarship. Evaluate faculty and staff performance on an ongoing basis with formal performance reviews annually. + Oversee student clinical education placements and experiences in conjunction with Geisinger and affiliated agency leadership to ensure excellent clinical training with real patients in substantive and safe clinical environments.
