The role you'll contribute:

Responsible for the daily functions of finance and decision support, including but not limited to labor management, capital planning and tracking, month-end and quarterly close analysis and reporting, financial and profitability reporting, annual budgeting, and forecasting. Assists Facility leadership and System Finance Leaders with fiscal education research of operating activities. Provides analytical support to operational management. Other duties as assigned.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide analysis and support of all fiduciary responsibilities associated with the organization/department.

Collaborates throughout the year with department directors and other hospital leadership to understand and manage to their budgets

Based on operational knowledge, ensuring that Kronos hours, compensation cost, vendor costs and other expenses are reflected in the proper departments and correct sub accounts

Creates and maintains productivity action plan templates, including a detailed understanding for facility standards used to determine productivity (i.e., Premier dept. profiles, etc.)

Partners with departmental directors to educate as well as to implement productivity at a detailed level (staffing matrix conversations, etc.)

Assists with pro forma development for business cases required by leaders across the hospital Includes larger strategic initiatives as well as smaller department restructurings, OR business cases, etc.

Plays leadership role in numerous reporting needs to hospital exec team, local boards, as well as other requests (group, system, sponsor, community, etc.)

Directs the monthly variance analysis for departmental leaders to review overall financial performance, including but not limited to, volume analysis, patient charges, labor productivity, supply utilization and other expenses

Supports the development and preparation of the annual operational, strategic and capital financial budget.

COLLABORATION:

Work with the facility CFO and other financial personnel to standardize month-end reporting

and operating procedures that affect their departments work-flow. Act as communication liaison to facility finance departments; attend all scheduled meetings and proactively participate.

Develops and maintains position working relationships with customers in support of the mission.

EDUCATION:

Support and actively implement educational and training programs that enhance our productivity while creating of an environment that is continually learning and seeking new alternatives to opportunities. Provide instruction/education to other management staff on financial trend data.

Provides for consistent financial decision support and cost accounting tools supporting the development, implementation, ongoing maintenance, education and enhancement of appropriate decision support systems.

Responsible for assisting operational management in identifying financial opportunities for improvement and analyzing performance by providing financial and clinical data, program analyses, business proformas, and financial consultative and presentation services.

Provides necessary support for completion of external and internal reporting schedules and requirements to include coordination of annual inventory.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Required qualifications:

Bachelor Degree

6 years of experience in the designated specialty

Preferred qualifications:

Master's Degree or MBA

Healthcare industry experience

CPA License
