DIRECTOR FIELD MERCH SUPPORT

Position Purpose:

The Director, Field Merchandising Support is responsible for the identification, assessment, planning, and implementation of strategic initiatives as well as the optimization of processes and reporting for the field merchandising organization. This position uses expertise in strategic thinking, process design, and quantitative analysis to drive successful improvement in field merchandising capabilities. This position is responsible for developing strong partnerships cross functionally to ensure solutions meet the needs of the merchandising organization. This individual provides direct and indirect leadership/management across a team of 50+ professionals and works closely with business partners to ensure organizational objectives are met. This role requires preparation and delivery of presentations and written documentation to all levels of the organization to communicate the various aspects of field merchandising initiatives, including goals, timelines, and detailed updates.

Key Responsibilities:

20% - Process Optimization - Uses independent thinking and judgment to identify and implement sustainable strategies and process improvements that enable improved quality and efficiencies for Field Merchandising.20% - Project Management - Lead cross functional projects ensuring that projects are on time, on budget, within scope and on target for successful implementation.40% - Strategic Planning & Implementation - Work across the organization to understand opportunities for business process improvement and how to better support Home Depot's stores and merchandising groups.20% - Talent Development - Selects, develops, and directs a high performing team.


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

This Position typically reports to the VP Field MerchandisingThis Position has up to 10 Direct Reports

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
 

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
 

Working Conditions:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
 

Preferred Education:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
