Position Summary
Provides overall strategic leadership and direction to distribution control centers, trouble operations, system reliability, outage response, grid management execution, and regulatory quality of service requirements. Responsible for leading edge technology, to execute and operate elevating levels of distributed energy resources and customer electrification offerings. Accountable for achieving specific safety, productivity, customer service, financial, operating plan execution, and delivery of reliability targets that are consistent with the business.
Essential Responsibilities
Provides overall strategic leadership for Control Center and Trouble Operations. Accountable for safety, cost, customer service, compliance requirements and reliability targets. Leads, develops and directs the implementation of business plan strategies and tactics.
Provides the development, oversight and execution of business continuity plans for emergency response, dispatch and administrative processes. Leads distribution organization's credible system operator strategies related to distribution system performance, response, grid management execution, cyber security and operations technology.
Represents company from a media perspective with regulatory agencies, communities, and customers. Manages internal and external communications with strong written and verbal skills regarding outages, emergencies and system status. Declares and leads escalated operations for company.
Leads, engages and manages non-bargaining and bargaining work groups. In partnership with senior management and workforce relations, recommends and implements labor relations strategies, resource and succession planning, training and development.
Provides strategic planning of technology, executes and operates elevating levels of distributed energy resources and customer electrification offerings on the distribution system.
Develops, monitors and manages department budget, recommends and implements action plans to resolve budgetary issues, takes actions as required, and accurately forecasts fiscal outcomes.
Leads enhancement initiatives about reliability and customer impacts on behalf of company. Responsible for managing company reputation risk executing ethically sound outage data reconciliation and financial practices.
Builds relationships with Industry related affiliations and utilities.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
Minimum of 10 years' work experience within gas or electric delivery which includes a minimum of 5 years middle management experience and managing bargaining unit employees preferred.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of current labor agreements.
Demonstrated supervisory/management history of cultivating positive operating cultures.
Working knowledge of operational tools DMS and OMS required.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a media spokesperson.
Position operates 365/7 and requires on-call duty.
Preferred Requirements
Professional Engineer license.
Experience negotiating labor agreements.
Demonstrated knowledge managing control center and/or emergency response.
