Reporting directly to the VP, Corporate Development this position will provide leadership and support to the corporation’s entire corporate development function and activities. The Director, Corporate Development will partner with the VP-Corporate Strategy, VP-Zebra Ventures, and other strategy teams within the organization to drive the M&A function at Zebra - identifying, negotiating and integrating acquisitions, joint ventures, alliances, and strategic investments to create shareholder value. In addition, this role will work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer, Corporate Strategy team, Integration Management Office, key senior management, and business unit leaders to develop the corporation’s corporate development strategy while ensuring it is clearly linked to overall strategy for the company and the existing strengths of the business. *Ideal Candidate will work Hybrid 3 x a week minimum from our Lincolnshire, IL office* (remote for right candidate) Responsibilities: • Drive a process to ensure proactive and proprietary deal flow. Work on the identification, negotiation and closing of a wide variety of transactions involving not only acquisitions but joint ventures, alliances, licensing agreements and other investments on a global basis. • Lead M&A projects through all phases of the process including developing initial investment thesis, conducting preliminary due diligence, pitching new opportunities to senior management, submitting offer letters, leading broad cross-functional teams through confirmatory due diligence, negotiating definitive documents, and driving to a successful outcome for Zebra. • Collaborate closely with the Chief Strategy Officer, VP-Corporate Development, VP-Corporate Strategy, and VP-Zebra Ventures to further develop and refine the corporation’s strategy. • Play a key role in ensuring the effective integration of all acquisitions to maximize value creation. Drive the process to develop tactical and strategic plans to more closely align new and existing operations and develop and track financial measures post-acquisition to ensure synergy realization. • Participate in the annual strategic planning, working with key leaders to develop strategies to maximize profitable growth both in the short-term and long-term. Take a lead role in the company’s strategic program management office to facilitate cross-business / functional collaboration to accelerate the execution of a portfolio of key strategic initiatives. • Lead by example, model Zebra’s core values, deliver results and build strong relationships with Zebra’s Senior Management team. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree + 15+ years related experience; 3-5 years in major business consulting firm preferred or 7+ years in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or similar M&A transactional + Ability to Travel: Occasional Travel (<10% of time), telework approximately 3 days in office, 2 days remote Preferred Qualifications + MBA + Superior knowledge of M&A processes and negotiations and the key terms of definitive agreements. + Strong analytical, quantitative skills, including strong proficiency with valuation and financial modeling + Ability to think strategically about products, markets, business models, competitive landscapes, and their relevance to Zebra’s business. + Proven ability to work independently, with limited direction, while managing multiple projects, often under tight deadlines. + Strong project management skills and an ability to drive to results from broad, cross functional teams. + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to succinctly distill and present a large quantity of information and analysis for executive consumption. Salary: USD 174400.00 - USD 261600.00 Yearly Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
