**Position Overview**
Burlington Stores is hiring a Director of Construction Operations, serving as a key leader within the Burlington Construction and Design team, directly responsible for project budget oversight, estimating discipline, and vendor value optimization through a centralized national account program.
This individual will oversee the project budget review and approval process for all new stores, ensuring Burlington achieves best-in-class pricing while maintaining construction quality and adhering to project timelines.
Additionally, this leader will spearhead the development and execution of a robust national accounts program covering HVAC, lighting, flooring, fixtures, and other key categories. They will drive cross-functional alignment across Construction, Procurement, Facilities, and Store Planning to ensure enterprise-wide value delivery and compliance with preferred vendor strategies.
Remote and local candidates, with the ability to travel, will be considered.
**A Day In The Life**
**Project Cost Management & Estimating**
+ Lead and own the project estimating process from pre-bid through final GC award
+ Partner with Construction and Design leads to review all new store project budgets and challenge cost assumptions
+ Work with Estimating to develop and implement a standardized unit cost benchmarking
+ Drive visibility, accuracy, and accountability in budget forecasting and project closeout performance
**National Accounts Program Leadership**
+ Stand up and scale a national account program across key spend categories (HVAC, lighting, flooring, fixtures, etc.)
+ Negotiate, implement, and manage preferred vendor agreements that ensure value, consistency, and quality
+ Coordinate with Procurement and Legal to ensure contracts reflect Burlington’s strategic goals
+ Measure vendor performance through KPIs and ensure continuous improvement in pricing and service delivery
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
+ Align closely with partners in Construction, Procurement, Facilities, Store Planning, and Remodels to ensure adherence to national accounts
+ Ensure vendor specifications and procurement align with operational needs and long-term cost savings goals
+ Drive adoption and compliance across business units
**Key Success Measures:**
+ % Reduction of project line-item budgets
+ Total annual cost savings from value engineering and national accounts
+ National account compliance rate across projects
+ Cross-functional stakeholder satisfaction
**You'll Come With**
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree
**Experience:**
+ 10+ years of experience in construction operations, project budgeting, or construction sourcing
+ Experience leading high-performing teams and cross-functional initiatives
+ Deep knowledge of construction project management, cost estimation, and vendor negotiations
+ Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record of driving savings without sacrificing quality
+ This role will require a mix of finance & accounting experience, as well the opportunity to join forces with cross departmental team members and participate in special projects, focused on analytics and process improvements, to drive efficiencies for the company.
