**Key Responsibilities:**
**Team Leadership & Integration -**
+ Build and lead a high-performing team of architects, drafters, permit specialists, and project managers
+ Combine the current manufacturing drafting team with your facility's design/drafting functions under one umbrella
+ Develop a culture of servant-minded leadership, accountability, and cross-functional clarity
+ Coach, mentor, and hold team members to high standards of communication, ownership, and follow-through
**Project Management Oversight -**
+ Oversee the full lifecycle of modular building projects once design begins - from internal kickoff to final handoff
+ Ensure project managers coordinate effectively across departments and serve as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and external clients
+ Drive visibility of project timelines, milestones, and impacts across scopes
+ Equip project managers to think ahead, anticipate issues, and balance client needs with what’s best for the company
+ Support PMs in making smart, timely decisions when projects shift or challenges arise
**Architectural & Design Leadership -**
+ Ensure all modular building designs meet functional requirements, building codes, permitting regulations, and aesthetic standards
+ Support the development of standard models and scalable design systems
+ Drive coordination between architectural designers, permit specialists, and manufacturing detailers
**Permitting & Compliance -**
+ Oversee multi-state permitting strategy and timelines
+ Ensure proactive status updates and realistic expectations across internal and external stakeholders
+ Balance cost, time, and compliance in submittals and corrections
**Department Development & Strategy -**
+ Build the design department into a fully aligned and scalable support structure for modular growth
+ Work closely with leadership to identify future team needs - including building an internal engineering team
+ Identify what’s working, fix what’s not, and develop SOPs where needed - but only after deeply understanding the current processes

**Qualifications -**
+ 8+ years of experience in architecture, design, project management, or permitting (ideally in modular or commercial construction)
+ 3+ years in a leadership or director - level role, with proven team-building experience
+ Familiar with multi-state permitting processes, modular design, and production/drafting coordination
+ Strong communicator with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment
+ Proficient in industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel; familiar with Teams-based communication and spreadsheet-based tracking

**Pay Details:** $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
