This position is hybrid - Tuesday - Thursday in the New York Office and Monday and Friday work from home.

Business Overview:  
The ALM & Investment Strategy Team’s mission at New York Life is to effectively partner with the business, finance, and asset management teams to research, develop, and implement Investment strategies that help meet business and financial objectives. These goals heavily depend on robust models and data.

What You'll Do:

• Support the ALM team leaders in calculating, aggregating and reporting of the NYL General Account ALM position
• Collaborate with the Actuarial Services, Business Units, Risk, Finance, and OCIO teams to analyze and manage the company’s ALM profile
• Perform deep dives and quarterly review of ALM results
• Build and maintain reporting systems (e.g. Python and Tableau)
• Provide ALM modeling analysis and support for investment and hedging strategies
• Conduct research to support and expand ALM practices
• Build and test investment strategies for new and existing products

What You'll Bring:

• 4+ years of experience in life insurance and/or annuities, preferably in ALM or related discipline
• FSA designation in the Society of Actuaries highly desirable
• CFA designation and/or investments experience a plus
• Deep understanding of life insurance and/or annuity financials and modeling results
• Ability to think strategically about ALM and investment strategy
• Strong modeling, analytical, and technical skills
• Python coding experience desired
• Prophet experience a plus
• Tableau experience a plus
• Strong business partnering skills
• Strong communication (written and oral) skills, drafting and presenting different types of presentations to a wide variety of stakeholdersLI-VL1

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $122,500-$200,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
