Job Description:

The Director of GCG Global Dollar Card Americas is responsible for providing global strategic thought leadership, leading a diverse team, managing key regional relationships with clients, and driving profitable business growth with our global customers located across Americas region.  The Director will manage and lead a team of Account and Business Development responsible for growing, developing, and managing the portfolio across the region. They will play a key role in supporting, global relationship strategies and client retention, in line with the overall Shareholder, Customer and Colleague goals.

 

This is a high visibility role within International Card Services with a significant focus on growth in 2025 and beyond. The Director is responsible for designing and executing the overall commercial growth strategy and ensuring consistent performance across the team in close partnership with key stakeholder groups within Global Commercial Services and the wider American Express organization. By understanding customer needs and the regional and local card portfolio across relevant industries, this person will be required to reinforce our core values and effectively position our Value Proposition both internally and externally. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, driving innovation and delivering results.

 

Responsibilities:

Leading the strategy and execution of business growth initiatives through regional and local commercial negotiations with American Express’ global clients in partnership with GCG teams Provide clear leadership, direction and coaching to support the team’s success Provide leadership and vision to the newly aligned team that engages and inspires the forward strategy Develop relationships at senior levels within the customer base to ensure we enhance and deepen our relationship and strengthen our position within the region Collaborate and support the global GCG team to align on retention plans and account growth strategies Ensure that the team is equipped to deliver the Value Proposition and our expertise in Payment Solutions to secure expansions, new business and cross sell B2B within the portfolio Explore various strategic initiatives which will enable the Account Development Team to retain, grow and diversify spend within the existing customer base Leverage data and insights to share unique value to customers and leverage the customer base to bring together key customer market networks where innovation and solution focus helps to deepen relationships Partner with regional leadership teams to collaborate and align engagement, retention and growth strategies Utilize our extensive data to target and drive growth strategies across the team’s portfolios Operate an effective system to monitor, report and communicate competitive market trends Collaborate across the region and globally to create a team that shares best practice and cross pollinates success Focus on profitability to drive business decisions

 

Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant experience in sales, account development, strategic relationship and people management Experience in commercial card business working with Global/Multinational clients Inspirational and enthusiastic people leadership with demonstrated ability to develop, engage and empower colleagues and create a highly effective, inclusive culture. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence and proven ability to rally others around a vision. Strong strategic and creative thinker with the ability to develop compelling strategies and translate into successful executions. Ability to prioritize and manage complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders at the same time. Experience implementing strategies and articulating and measuring results. Strategic thought leader with robust analytical skills; naturally translates data into insights and actionable channel plans/roadmaps. Superior relationship management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and gain support from teams with competing priorities. Clear and articulate communicator, with ability to tailor messages to different audiences. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, pivot when needed, and able to understand and navigate through a broad range of business issues. Experience working across diverse and complex geographies, with a significant degree of cultural sensitivity and awareness Ability to embrace and drive change Comfortable working with a variety of internal and external partners to achieve goals and resolve issues. Strategic & analytical problem solver. Business level fluency in both English and Spanish (written and oral).

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
