**Job Description**
The Medical Evidence Generation Lead supports evidence generation for the Kite portfolio, including US Strategic Collaborations, Medical Affairs Sponsored Studies, Collaborative Research Studies, and Investigator-Sponsored Research Studies (ISRs), ensuring alignment across the whole Evidence Generation function and with internal strategies. The Lead will act as a key driver of strategic and innovative evidence generation initiatives within the US, fostering partnerships across Kite’s value chain.
The preferred location for this position is our Santa Monica, CA office.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ As a member of the EG leadership team oversee the development and execution of integrated evidence and medical plans for the US, in partnership with the Evidence Generation Lead (ACE, International, & Japan), GMA Strategy and CTOM
+ Lead the US strategic collaborations and strategic exchange between Kite thought leaders in community practice and academia, including scientific dialogue and representing Kite as a trusted and innovative industry collaborator and partner of choice.
+ In collaboration with other key stakeholders, develop and drive an integrated US evidence strategy, ensuring consistency and alignment across other geographies.
+ Partner with Strategy, Research, Development, Commercial to ensure US evidence generation priorities are embedded into cross-functional initiatives.
+ Design and drive strategies to accelerate the development of evidence generation pipeline leveraging external research platforms, technologies, and insights.
+ Lead the alignment for Evidence Generation efforts at core governances (e.g., PT, GMT, etc.)
+ Align with and advise governance teams on new US external opportunities that will inform strategy and influence decisions in the creation/refinement of integrated evidence generation plans
**Operational Excellence & Execution**
+ Accountable for overseeing US specific Collaborative Research, ISRs, and/or Kite Medical Affairs Sponsored Studies from concept ideation to governance approval and throughout the study lifecycle, including protocol development, data review and internal/external presentation in partnership with strategy and operations team.
+ Align with and advise senior functional and Kite leadership on new external opportunities to inform strategy and influence decisions in the creation/refinement of IEPs.
+ Ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulations throughout the study lifecycle.
**Scientific & External Engagement Leadership**
+ Drive a culture of medical innovation, ensuring that emerging scientific trends and new technologies are incorporated into Evidence Generation strategies for the US.
+ Champion novel approaches to evidence generation, including digital platforms and data-driven insights to optimize impact.
+ Oversee external engagement strategies to strengthen scientific credibility and enhance interactions with healthcare professionals for evidence generation.
**Governance**
+ Serve as member of the central External Research Program screening/review committee.
+ Oversee the evaluation and potential selection of external partnerships and management of on-going strategic collaboration joint steering committees
+ Co-lead the evolution of the US Kite Evidence Generation strategy and value proposition as part of the EG Leadership team
**Basic Qualifications:**
**Education & Professional Background:**
+ Bachelor's Degree and Twelve years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in medical affairs, clinical development, or evidence generation roles
OR
+ Masters' Degree and Ten years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in medical affairs, clinical development, or evidence generation roles
OR
+ PhD and Eight years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in medical affairs, clinical development, or evidence generation roles
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) in a biomedical or clinical discipline.
+ Direct experience in cell therapy or related advanced modalities (e.g., gene therapy, immuno-oncology) is required.
+ Experience in in designing and managing external clinical studies (e.g., Phase IV, investigator-sponsored trials) and managing strategic research collaborations.
+ Deep understanding of the cell therapy landscape, including clinical development pathways, regulatory considerations, and post-approval evidence needs.
+ Familiarity with CAR-T and associated safety, efficacy, and logistical challenges.
+ Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and external partnerships (e.g., academic centers, cooperative groups, registries).
+ Strong strategic thinking and project management skills, with a track record of aligning evidence generation with medical strategy and lifecycle planning.
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to translate complex problems into actionable insights.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Willingness to travel domestically up to 20–30%.
+ Strong commitment to compliance, scientific integrity, and ethical standards.

The salary range for this position is:
Other US Locations: $221,000.00 - $286,000.00.
Bay Area: $243,100.00 - $314,600.00.
Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
