**What you’ll be doing**
The Director of US Global Operational Risk Management (GORM) Testing sustains and enhances monitoring and oversight testing routines across the US bank. This role develops US testing plans and provides regular reporting of the operating environment across first line defense business activities. This includes providing independent effective challenge over first line of defense control activities and outcome-based testing routines.

**How you’ll succeed**
+ Identify and report control gaps, ineffective operating environments, or non-adherence to internal/external requirements across the US banking environment.
+ Promote a proactive risk management culture that includes managing internal relationships to influence promote acceptance and implementation of leading practice including regulatory expectations.
+ Remain current on regulatory changes and industry leading practices, control frameworks, and control testing techniques to ensure CIBC Operational Risk Management meets regulatory expectations and is effective and efficient.
+ Recommend enhancements to first line of defense business partners – primarily within the context of the control and control testing environments – to enhance oversight, operational efficiency, and effectiveness.
+ As a key contributor, this job has the authority to raise concerns as well as recommend opportunities to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
+ As a manager of people, this job has the authority to assign tasks to employees within their span of control, select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.
**Who you are**
+ You possess 10 years of relevant work experience in the financial industry is desired. Large Financial Institution or Large Foreign Banking Organization second line of defense experience is preferred.
+ You have At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity control testing and/or second line of defense independent effective challenge over first line of defense cybersecurity control testing activities.
+ You exhibit strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
+ You have a bachelor’s degree preferably in information systems, computer science, information technology, network security, or cybersecurity.
+ You are a cyber related subject matter expert with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and tools.
+ You have desired certifications include Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH); Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC); and/or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
+ You portray excellent leadership and business planning skills.
+ You have working knowledge of risk assessment, control concepts and methodologies that can be used in an Operational Risk context.
+ You exhibit a solutions-oriented mindset, excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
+ You demonstrate solid understanding of regulatory expectations and leading practices of the financial industry specifically for risk management with an emphasis on operational risk management.
+ You can demonstrate CIBC’s core values (i.e., trust, teamwork and accountability);
+ You are a good conceptual thinker and ability to synthesize complex information into clear and precise business solutions.
+ You can manage multiple projects and/or initiatives simultaneously under tight deadlines.
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of **_$170,000K - $190,000K_** for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
