PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Director, Treasury Reconciliation at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for ensuring the daily and monthly reconciliations of money movement is performed in line with PenFed and Accounting policies and procedures. This position will have direct reports that manage the day-to-day tasks of these critical Accounting functions. Individuals should have an understanding of product and information flows from various subledger systems and their inputs to reconciliation and clearing tools while providing auditable documentation that ensures accuracy and completeness. Direct day-to-day financial operations for the Shares Services Cash function and the completion of major deliverables, including monthly analysis, audit requests and reporting schedules. Ensure financial accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all money movement accounting and reconciliation processes. Daily review of the journal entry and reconciliation outputs. Ensure analysis of the reconciling items and identification of resolutions by the team are being followed through with actionable items to resolve the items, and there is complete documentation and communication of the outcome. Daily review of the sub-ledger reconciliations process, analysis of the reconciling items to initiate action to resolve the items and complete required documentation and communication of the outcome. Possess analytical and strong communication skills to coordinate the resolution of the transaction posting errors, breaks and reconciling items across various teams in the firm. Coordinate and collaborate extensively with accounting, product owners, operations teams and technology functions to fulfil their responsibilities. Review training programs, daily team performances and monthly reporting processes to assess against established key performance indicators (KPIs). Lead, coach, and mentor a team of accounting professionals, building subject matter expertise and reducing key-person risk. Responsible for leading change management of payment clearing and accounting processes to ensure ongoing accuracy and timeliness of results. Establishes and reports on KPIs used by the clearing process to ensure settlement volumes are reported, exceptions thresholds are monitored and reported against, and service level agreements (SLAs) are adhered to. Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Responding to audit queries from external and internal auditors, providing necessary audit trail and documentation to support the work performed. Assist in setting the goals and scope for automation strategies and system tools to improve the Accounting, Treasury Reconciliation space. Acting as a subject matter expert for accounting and related payment clearing teams across the business. *This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.* Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required and/or payment accreditation and/or 12+ (twelve) of payment clearing and accounting experience exclusive to large financial institutions. Minimum of 10 (ten) or more years of experience in treasury operations, or reconciliations within a financial institution. Minimum of 4 (four) years’ direct management experience. Knowledge of payment systems (ACH, wire, SWIFT), FedLine, reconciliation tools, treasury platforms, checks and mobile deposits processing is preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to balance strategic priorities with operational execution. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. Supervisory Responsibility This position will supervise employees Licenses and Certifications Payments Accreditation preferred Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
