We are seeking a seasoned Trade & Customs Director with a minimum of 8 years of experience in international trade compliance and customs advisory services. This strategic role offers the opportunity to lead client engagements, drive complex projects, and shape key decisions around customs regulations, tariff mitigation, and foreign trade zone strategies.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
Trade Compliance & Regulatory Advice
Interpret and apply international trade and customs laws across jurisdictionsProvide guidance on import/export procedures, classification, valuation, and country-of-origin rulesDevelop robust compliance programs and conduct risk assessmentsForeign Trade Zones & Tariff Mitigation
Advise on FTZ setup, maintenance, and operational complianceIdentify and implement tariff reduction strategies and duty deferral opportunitiesProject & Team Management
Lead cross-functional teams on client engagements and deliverablesManage timelines, resources, and scope across multiple concurrent projectsFinancial Leadership
Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, and revenue performanceContribute to profitability targets through efficient management and strategic planningBusiness Development & Thought Leadership
Cultivate client relationships and identify growth opportunitiesRepresent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and publishing of thought pieces
Essential traits:
8+ years of trade compliance experience (in-house, consulting, law-firm) with broad industry and sector familiarity (JD, CPA, or U.S. customs broker license a plus)Ability to manage project timelines and budget and communicate project needs to internal and external stakeholders In-depth knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and global trade practicesStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProven track record of leading teams and delivering resultsExperience with ERP systems, global trade management software, or FTZ platforms is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
