Job DescriptionRole Summary and Purpose
As the Director, Technical Tools Governance at NBCUniversal, you will lead the strategic direction, execution, and governance of technical tools supporting the Digital Network Operations Center (DNOC) within the Global Streaming Technology organization. This role is responsible for overseeing the full product lifecycle of operational tools, driving standardization, automation, and optimization across platforms. You will also manage procurement and financial oversight for the tools ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational excellence.
This is a high-impact leadership role that blends product ownership, technical governance, and financial stewardship to support world-class, around-the-clock streaming operations.
Key Responsibilities
Product Governance & Strategy
Define and implement standards, processes, and tools for technical product ownership across teams.Develop and maintain metrics to evaluate tool performance, quality, and ROI.Align product strategy with business objectives and user needs.Lead the development of roadmaps and business cases for new tools and enhancements.Operational Execution
Oversee the full product lifecycle: planning, requirements gathering, budgeting, procurement, and vendor management.Partner with engineering and digital teams to implement new technologies and resolve tool-related issues.Ensure timely delivery of technology solutions within budget constraints.Conduct ROI analysis to prioritize tool enhancements and feature development.Financial & Procurement Oversight
Manage procurement of tools and services, ensuring cost-effective vendor relationships.Oversee budgeting and financial planning for the tools portfolio.Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.Leadership & Collaboration
Lead cross-functional teams, including internal stakeholders and external vendors, to ensure tool reliability and availability.Coach and mentor team members to build a high-performing, collaborative culture.Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the product ownership function.Qualifications• Education: BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
• 9+ years in Technical Product Ownership, Product Management, or Digital Operations.
• Proven experience managing vendors, budgets, and procurement processes.
• Deep understanding of Agile development and process optimization.
• Expert-level knowledge of video streaming technologies and operational tooling.
