About the role:
Director of Therapy & Technology Innovation is responsible for developing deeper and more productive global relationships with Japanese Key Opinion Leaders, playing a key liaison role between the Japan country team and the Global Franchise leads on all upstream portfolio strategies and ensuring a strong overall working relationship between Global HQ and the country team . We are looking for someone who can develop strategies in these areas and then have the drive, influence, cultural adaptability and global collaboration skill-sets to ensure their successful execution. Qualified candidates will have deep commercial experience and market development experience both in Japan and also a corporate HQ environment.
Your responsibilities include:
KOL Engagement and Market Conditioning:
Develop & manage Japanese KOL relationships w/ BSC from global perspective Create and execute an engagement strategy for Japanese KOL's for Japan domestic & Regional/global projects (Prof Ed, Upstream, Podium, Clinical Research, etc) Manage all contract and compliance of related KOL engagements Ensure alignment and support from global internal stakeholders Establish and maintain consistent touchpoints for Japanese KOL's w/ key global stakeholders Condition critical AMC's and other identified key customers in Japan market for future product & technology introductions (ie Scivita, Apollo, others in pipeline) Support account-specific product introduction and adoption strategies with local sales teams Develop and execute strategies for early exposure to key technologies for those customers Track and report all activities through metrics and dashboardsUpstream Product Development Liaison:
Act as liaison between global Franchise leads and Japan local marketing teams on short and long term product development: Overcome language and cultural barriers as necessary to improve alignment and communication Ensure Japan interests, market needs, product requests are understood and reflected in global projects Ensure Japan team understands global strategy/tactics more fully and commits to appropriate local investment and engagement to drive global strategies in Japan Ensure Japan KOL's are engaged in critical projects Act as liaison on critical Ocean (Japan Agile R&D development team) projects w/ global teams Ensure that global teams fully understand scale/scope/objectives of Ocean projects Explore regional/global expansion opportunities for Ocean projects Represent Ocean projects at CDB, FLT & Portfolio discussions Support Ocean team members in navigating internal BSC PLDP & SFMD processesStrategic Development & Liaison:
Ensure that Japan’s current business conditions & results are well understood by global leaders at ELT & Director level. Facilitate and conduct weekly and ad-hoc reviews as appropriate between BSC Japan leadership and global leadership. Ensure that Japan AOP priorities are well understood by global leaders and that global leaders are aligned to those priorities to provide appropriate support, investment, and engagement. Facilitate additional ad-hoc communication and collaboration as needed. Ensure that Japan Strategic Plan priorities are well understood by global leaders and that global leaders are aligned to those priorities to provide appropriate support, investment, and engagement. Facilitate additional ad-hoc communication and long-term collaboration as required. Lead and execute special strategic projects within Japan and Region as assigned by BSJ Endo BUD and/or global leadership team (ie Org Design, Regional Prof Ed, Upstream product needs, etc) Represent BSJ on specific global strategic projects when required (ie BD due diligence, integration activities, etc)

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
