The Director of Fandango Technology and Affiliate Partnerships will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding Fandango’s business via delivering deals that generate revenue via affiliate, API integration, and technology-based partnerships business development and execution. In collaboration with the SVP, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships, and business leaders across the organization, this role will be pivotal in driving key company revenue and business objectives in these categories.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Develop, maintain and foster relationships with new and existing brands in the ticketing, tech, affiliate/syndication/editorial spaces to pitch and negotiate robust affiliate (including API integration), technology-focused (e.g. Meta, TikTok etc.) relationships that will drive revenue and strategic value for Fandango, along with periodic support for other NBC Sports Next tech-based partnership opportunities as they arise.
Renew and renegotiate renewals among these deal types.
Carry out the business development and execution strategy for Fandango’s affiliate partnerships while ensuring it relates back to both Fandango’s broader strategy, that of existing deals, and potential future deals.
Manage some partnership execution and account management for the deals this role brings in.
Support the Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships and SVP Marketing and Partnerships with the API integration and affiliate elements of broader Strategic Partnership deals as they arise.
Collaborate with cross-functional internal Fandango teams, including product, marketing, legal, ad sales, and finance, to develop and execute partnership initiatives and projects.
Serve as a critical junction between tech and consumer arenas, especially with the Fandango and NBC Sports Next / Fandango Product teams, to help ensure that the technical parts of Fandango’s partnership initiatives are road-mapped and executed within partners’ needed timelines and that they meet the strategic objectives for those business units.
Manage status documents and trackers as they pertain to the parts of the business that this role focuses on.
Other duties as needed by leadership to achieve the success of the business in these key business areas.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business administration, product, marketing, brand management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, product partnerships/marketing, affiliate/API-led partnerships, or related roles within the entertainment, media, e-commerce, or technology industry that sit at the intersection of technology and partnerships.
Strong individual contributor with a proven track record of negotiating and executing partnerships in the affiliate, back-end API software, ticketing/commerce platforms, technology, digital entertainment syndication, and tech partnerships space is required.
Deep experience and expertise navigating extremely matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and approvers involved in the partnerships deal and execution process.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Proven track record of successfully identifying, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships that drive business growth.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze market trends, evaluate partnership opportunities, and make data-driven recommendations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and a “team first” collaborative mentality to the work.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and goal achievement and a team-focused “better together” approach essential.
Experience with project management systems (Asana, Jira), Microsoft Office suite (especially Power Point), Keynote, and tracking software’s is a plus.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Flexibility to travel and work nights/weekends as needed.
