What does a successful Director Technical Project Management do?

At Fiserv, a Director Technical Project Management ensures predictable, consistent, and successful project team delivery and Oversight. The Director Technical Project Management plans, coordinates, and monitors team members that have oversight to larger scale scope and budget projects with a high degree of complexity and risk.  The Director Technical Project Management partners with key business stakeholders to ensure a successful start-up and completion of a project at leadership levels.

A Director Technical Project Management is a change leader who proactively manages and mitigates project risks. The teams reporting to this Director procan span multiple business units or functional areas.  The Director Technical Project Management works under minimal supervision.

What you will do:

Ensure predictable, consistent, and successful project delivery within your team.Provide executive status summaries and updates of the overall project to the organization and all stakeholders.Exhibit proactive behavior by engaging in project planning activities, including but not limited to: Defining the overall scope of the project; Creating and maintaining a consolidated timeline/schedule highlighting the major milestones and associated dates for project activities.Identify and communicate project dependencies and impacts.Establish processes and metrics to ensure on-going control of the project (E.g., Kick off meeting, overall Project Management Approach, Communication Plan, Risk Management, Issues Management, Change Control, etc.)Monitor the integrity of the programs within your team and execute measures to maintain such integrity.Define project governance, outlining roles, responsibilities, decision rights and clearly defined escalation path.Ensure success criteria defined upfront to promote alignment and actively manage to expected project outcomes.Keep all stakeholders (internal & external) engaged in the project, aligned on expected outcomes and informed about what is occurring throughout project.Proactively communicate the project’s progress on an on-going basis, ensuring transparency throughout project lifecycle. Provide leadership and key stakeholders with the information and venues to make effective, timely decisions.Ensure your team is delivering with the PMO framework.Perform audits.Provide leadership and key stakeholders with the information and venues to make effective, timely decisions.Engage clients to leverage and utilize Fiserv solutions.Provide advisory services for industry best practices.Analyze client needs and translate tactical and strategic business objectives to deliver added value.Deliver best practices to maximize revenue realization, client satisfaction, retention and client reference ability.Provide customer support for the customers' IT initiatives by providing strategic, architectural, operational and implementation planning.Manage multiple tracks / workstreams and provide summarized executive program updates internally and externally

Travel Required:

Travel to client sites ranges between 25% - 50%.

What you will need to have:

Bachelor’s degree in business OR equivalent work experience with a high school diploma.Min of 10 years of previous project management and/or relevant consulting experience.Knowledge of- and demonstrated experience in project management processes and methodologies, as well as project lifecycles.Experience in driving large scale projects within an organizationExperience with matrix management of cross-functional processes and teamsExperience with consulting services that preface, enable or influence the adoption of IT transformation, , risk, governance and services that assist clients in assessing different technology strategies and aligning their technology strategies to their business or processes.Experience providing customer support for the customers' IT initiatives by providing strategic, architectural, operational and implementation planning.Possesses the following key skills/behaviors:

What would be great to have:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Experience in banking, financial services, and/or software industries.Experience with Project Management tools.
