Title: Director – Team Member Relations, NVA GP
Reports To: VP, People & Compliance NVA GP
Job Summary:
The Director – Team Member Relations will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the employee relations strategy for all of NVA General Practice (NVA GP) from the ground up. This is a newly created role that will play a critical part in shaping NVA GPs approach to employee relations, ensuring a positive and productive work environment across NVA GP. The Director, Team Member Relations will lead a team focused on resolving employee issues, developing key policies, proper documentation, best practices and fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities: • Work cross-functionally to develop and execute a comprehensive employee relations strategy aligned with NVA GPs mission, values, and business objectives. • Mitigate NVA GPs employee relations risks, rolling out new initiatives, and managing all human resource compliance matters. • Establish clear protocols for handling employee concerns, investigations and disciplinary actions. • Lead initiatives to foster positive employee relations and minimize workplace conflicts. • Collaborate with the GP People Team, Compliance and Legal teams to develop, update, and communicate employee relations policies. • Partner with the GP People Leadership Team and Corporate Compliance & Ethics to ensure policies are consistently applied and are in compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures, recommending improvements as needed in partnership with GP People Leadership Team and Corporate Compliance & Ethics. • Oversee and manage the resolution of complex employee relations issues, including investigations of harassment, discrimination, and other workplace concerns. • Provide guidance and support to Team Member Relations Specialists and managers on conflict resolution and performance management. • Ensure investigations are conducted thoroughly, impartially, and in a timely manner. • Partner with the Talent Management team to design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on employee relations topics, including conflict resolution and performance management concerns. • Develop resources and tools to support managers in handling employee relations issues effectively. • Partner with GP People Leadership Team to drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement and workplace culture. • Lead efforts to gather team member feedback through surveys, focus groups, and other methods, and develop action plans based on findings. • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of team member relations. • Utilize data and analytics to identify trends, assess the impact of employee relations initiatives, and make data-driven decisions. • Build and lead a high-performing Team Member Relations team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that reflects NVA’s values and misson. • Collaborate with other members of the People, Compliance and legal teams on inter-departmental issues and special projects, as assigned
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus in Employee Relations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement employee relations strategies that align with organizational goals • Experience in a multi-location organization, preferably in healthcare, veterinary services, or a similar industry • In-depth knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, and other federal, state, and local employment laws • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization • Significant experience directly handling and providing guidance on a variety of human resources compliance matters required • Proven track record of delivering pragmatic solutions to employee relations problems and resolving disputes effectively and efficiently • Proven experience in managing complex employee relations issues and conducting workplace investigations
Compensation: The compensation for this position includes a base salary ranging from $150,000-$160,000, and opportunity for short and long term incentives.
