Micron Technology is seeking a dynamic and strategic Talent Acquisition Director to lead all recruitment and workforce development strategies across Japan. This role will oversee two core teams: one focused on recruitment operations and the other on university engagement. The Director will be responsible for driving innovative hiring strategies, strengthening Micron’s employer brand, and building sustainable talent pipelines aligned with business goals and Micron’s values.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and manage end-to-end recruitment activities across Japan, ensuring alignment with global Talent Acquisition (TA) strategies and local business needs.Lead and innovate to pioneer the diversified talent ecosystem through strategic university engagement and workforce development strategies.Develop and put into action talent acquisition strategies that support inclusion and workforce planning targets.Partner with business leaders, HRBPs, and global TA teams to forecast hiring needs and deliver timely, high-quality talent solutions.Guarantee adherence with local labor laws and Micron’s internal governance standards, including fair hiring practices and audit readiness.Drive adoption of technology and AI tools to improve recruitment efficiency and candidate experience.Represent Micron Japan in external forums, conferences, and university advisory boards.Collaborate with global and regional TA leaders to share best practices and chip in to global initiatives.Keep track of and drive key hiring metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality-of-hire, etc.).Lead, mentor, and develop the Japan TA team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Support employer branding efforts in Japan, including social media campaigns and storytelling initiatives.Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.Progressive experience in talent acquisition or related fields, with at least five years in a leadership role—open to a variety of backgrounds and journeys.Proven expertise in recruitment and university engagement within Japan, with a solid understanding of local labor markets, university networks, and employment regulations.Comfort and proficiency with the full recruitment cycle, workforce planning, applicant tracking systems (such as Workday), recruitment analytics, sourcing tools, and AI technologies.Demonstrated dedication to inclusive hiring practices, as well as experience with compliance and audit readiness.Excellent strategic thinking, analytical abilities, partner management, communication, and team leadership skills, valuing diverse perspectives and collaborative approaches.Experience in employer branding and talent marketing is valued.
