Join us on this meaningful journey where your skills, compassion and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve. *How you’ll contribute* A Director of Surgical Services who excels in this role leads the unit and surgical center nursing staff. They will oversee staffing, budgeting, patient, employee and physician satisfaction, monitor volume and provide education/coaching to staff about hospital policies, procedures and training in new processes and equipment. Additional responsibilities include: * Ensures that the staff performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors. Does appropriate follow up when an error is made, including incident report investigation, staff education and process evaluation and change. * Directs staff on treating patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family. Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers. * Schedules and assigns staff to increase efficiency and coordination of department. Assures presence of RN circulator and PACU nurses for all cases. * Continuously supervises staff to ensure quality of nursing care. This includes completing evaluations and managing new employee orientations and evaluations. * Supervises care of OR suite and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sterility and operational ability of all items. Additional requirements include: * Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
