The Director, Strategy Advancement is a senior leader within CenterWell’s Experience Transformation team, responsible for shaping and driving strategic initiatives that enhance patient experiences across the CenterWell organization. This role leads the development and execution of forward-looking strategies, governance frameworks, and human-centered design practices that align with enterprise priorities and deliver measurable value. The ideal candidate is a seasoned strategist with a consulting background, a high degree of emotional intelligence, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Lead the development and advancement of enterprise-wide experience strategies with a 12–24 month horizon, ensuring alignment with business goals and transformation priorities.
Translate complex business challenges into actionable strategies, which also align with core patient needs, that drive value realization across the core portfolio.
Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, connecting the dots between strategy, execution, and outcomes.
Governance & Portfolio Management
Establish and oversee governance structures that ensure strategic initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and executed effectively.
Manage a portfolio of transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and delivering measurable impact.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators, risks, and dependencies across the portfolio.
Human-Centered Design & Innovation
Champion the integration of human-centered design principles into strategy development and solution design – ensuring deep alignment with customer needs.
Collaborate with design, research, and operational teams to ensure that member and patient needs are embedded in all transformation efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, business unit strategists, corporate strategy, and cross-functional teams.
Manage stakeholder expectations with transparency and empathy, ensuring alignment and buy-in throughout the strategy lifecycle.
Communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences, leadership to frontline teams.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and develop a high-performing team of strategists and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to support team growth and retention.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, Healthcare Administration, or related field
A Minimum ten years of professional experience in healthcare or an adjacent field.
A minimum of five years in management consulting or a similar strategic advisory role.
A minimum of two years formal leadership experience
Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, enterprise-level initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of direct reports.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
High emotional intelligence (EQ) with a strong ability to build trust, navigate ambiguity, and influence without authority.
Deep understanding of value realization, strategic planning, and portfolio management.
Experience applying human-centered design methodologies in a strategic context.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business
Experience in healthcare, payer/provider, or consumer experience transformation.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and digital transformation practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed approach to decision-making.
Additional Information
100% remote role
Standard working hours required; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must work Eastern Hours
<25% Annual travel to various Centerwell and Conviva markets

Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
