Lead the Vision and Strategy for Next-Generation PC Software Solutions
Position Overview
The Director of Software Product Management is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, executing, and championing the product vision and roadmap for a suite of PC software offerings. This dynamic individual blends deep technological expertise, market insight, and a proven ability to translate customer needs into innovative product solutions. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic alignment, and ensure the delivery of world-class software experiences that support the company’s business objectives and delight users globally.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Set the vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap for the PC software portfolio, considering market trends, technological advancements, and customer feedback.
Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee end-to-end product management, from ideation and business case development, through design, development, launch, and post-release optimization.
Market and Competitive Analysis: Continuously assess the competitive landscape, identify emerging opportunities and threats, and recommend adjustments to strategy and product priorities.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, support, and executive teams to ensure alignment and successful product delivery.
Customer Advocacy: Champion the needs and preferences of end users, gathering actionable feedback and ensuring their voice is heard throughout the product development process.
Team Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding PC software product direction, priorities, and performance.
Business Case Ownership: Develop, present, and defend business cases for new product initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and financial targets.
KPI and Success Metrics: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product and team success, using data to drive continuous improvement.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in product development or market positioning, and proactively formulate mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in software product management, including at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
Demonstrated success managing the product lifecycle for PC software products, ideally in both B2B and B2C environments.
Proven ability to develop and deliver compelling product strategies that drive growth and achieve business objectives.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Track record of building, mentoring, and leading diverse and high-performing teams.
Deep understanding of PC operating systems, application software, and evolving user needs in the PC ecosystem.
Experience with agile product development methodologies and tools.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience launching global software products across multiple markets and languages.
Strong technical acumen with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams and understand software architecture.
Advanced knowledge of data analytics, customer insights, and product usage metrics.
Experience in driving partnerships and collaborations with third-party vendors or technology partners.
Background in cybersecurity, cloud computing, or integration with hardware platforms is a plus.

Monitor product performance metrics and market reception, iterating as necessary to optimize outcomes.
Mentor product management staff, conducting regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
Represent the company at industry conferences, events, or panels as a thought leader in PC software solutions.

The base pay range for this role is 183,650.00 - 275,450.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
