Job DescriptionVisa’s Technology Organization, specifically the Visa Payment Products Sales, Client Services, and Experience (SCSE) team, develops and supports platforms used by our business partners to service Visa clients worldwide on a 24/7 basis. The Director position within this team is a people management and technical delivery role based in our Austin, Texas office. The successful candidate is expected to be a .NET and Process Automation platforms subject matter expert within the Cardholder Applications Development team. The selected candidate will be fully responsible for managing resources in Austin, ensuring delivery and operational excellence of services built on full-stack and Process automation technologies.
Essential Function
As a Director of Software Engineering, you will provide technical leadership for one or more product offerings under Payment Platform Development, Cardholder Applications Development group. This role extends beyond resource management, development, delivery and you will be required to participate in application architecture, feature design, end to end network topology, application scalability needs and be the owner for bringing up an application from whiteboard to life.
Responsible coaching and guiding team members.Extensive experience in .Net and Process Automation technologies, API Development using SOAP or REST, JSON and XML Must have a solid understanding of relevant API standards like OAuth, SAML. Experience with both NoSQL and SQL datastores including MySQL and MongoDB, Unix or Linux platforms. Experience with tools development, automation (CI/CD, Auto Deployment, System Availability, etc.), logging and monitoring.Responsible for agile end-to-end development process within the construct of DevOps practices and methodologySupport agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint review and sprint retrospective.Provide technical insights to support release planning, including user stories breakdown, tasks assignment, and backlog grooming, through elicitation and clarifications of user stories and requirements with business stakeholders and communication of IT dependencies.Adapt to best practices and lessons learned from sprint execution to maximize team velocity.Design and develop enhancements or new services that areScalable, resilient, secured and decoupledAble to detect and alert when functional or non-functional production errors occurAble to gather and persist behavioral and performance metrics andDeliver optimal customer experience.Collaborate with Business teams, architects, and senior technologists to ensure completeness and common understanding of product vision, roadmap and end-to-end quality delivery.Preferably to have Java technologies hands on experience.Responsible for operational excellence for full stack servicesDesign and improve internal development methodologies utilizing .NET and supporting technologiesActively collaborate within Client Systems team, as well as with all other IT teams and business users located worldwide in various time-zones to fulfill the above responsibilities.Identify and utilize best practices in the industry to maximize efficient and elegant solutions while minimizing cost.This is a hybrid position. QualificationsBasic Qualifications
•10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
•12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 10 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Experience in managing onsite and virtual teams of size 6 or more.
• Experience in full stack technology, in one or more of the following technologies - .Net, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Angular/React, JavaScript, SQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka and Design Patterns
• Hands on experience in process and desktop automation technologies.
• Preferably to have Java technologies hands on experience.
• Experience with successful design, architecture and development using Hadoop large data processing systems is recommended
• Experience with Restful API development
• Experience with agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, and Jenkins

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 160,600.00 to 232,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
