Overview of the Company

MUFG’s Leveraged Capital Markets team is responsible for the origination and execution of high yield bond and leveraged loan transactions. This includes both underwritten and best efforts transactions for corporate and sponsor-owned clients across EMEA.

The team is part of MUFG’s Capital Markets platform and is currently based in London. Consistent with MUFG’s wider Leveraged Finance growth strategy, the team is expanding and setting up a presence in Paris.

Main Purpose of the Role

The objective of EU DSG is to develop a sustainable, client focused business, providing our Corporate and Financial Sponsor clients with fixed income derivative based solutions to help them achieve their risk management objectives.

Key Responsibilities

FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT

Deliver and grow a sustainable, client-focussed, derivatives solutions business.Maximise profitability from leveraging and enhancing the Group’s customer franchise.Work in partnership with Sales, Trading and Research in MUS International to deliver products that meet the needs of our clients.Co-work with the relevant teams in other Group entities to advance the business globally. In all activities, protect and enhance the firm’s, and the Group’s, reputation.Working in partnership with other parts of the Group to deliver franchise and business growth.Contributing to the Company’s revenue target and to enhancing the worldwide franchise of MUFG.

CLIENT DEVELOPMENT

Expand the size and diversity of the client-base.Proactively create trade ideas and new business proposals which meet our client’s needs.Anticipate and meet enquiries from our clients with competitive pricing and appropriately structured solutions.Clearly explain the risks and rewards of our products to our clients, and provide our clients with all the information they need to make an informed judgement about transactions.Promote appropriate cross-market sales opportunities, including providing the Trading and Capital Markets groups with insight into customer flow and potential product demand.

RISK MANAGEMENT (WHERE APPLICABLE)

Responsible for managing all relevant risks (including, but not limited to, market, credit, operational, conduct and xVA risks) within the firm’s risk appetite including through the use and continued development of market-leading risk management models and monitoring toolsReact to client enquiries in a risk-sensitive manner, ensuring proposed solutions are appropriate for the client and meet the requirements of best execution.Responsible for conducting business in line with regulatory requirements (including Volcker, EMIR and MIFID) and in line with internal policies and proceduresPrice accurately all new transactions and all risk positions including through the use and continued development of market leading pricing and hedging methodologies.Ensure that the Global Governance Standards are supported by appropriate and effective compliance procedures that are applied consistently across DSG

BUSINESS STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT

Responsible for developing EU DSG's participation in the Firm’s Business strategy including formulating and executingResponsible for managing and developing relationships with clients with a view to enhancing the franchise of MUFG.

CONTROLS AND COMPLIANCE

Responsible for ensuring the Company's compliance with internal risk and compliance requirements, controls and procedures.Personally following all policies and procedures and ensuring members of the EU DSG team also follow policies and procedures.

Work Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Derivatives

Skills and Experience - Functional/Technical Competencies

Strong numerical skillsMandatory Language skills – French / EnglishKnowledge of the customer baseExtensive knowledge of FX and DerivativesDeep understanding of the xVA pricing componentsTeam playerAdditional European Language
