About the Role

As Sales Director, you will be responsible for growing Harman’s automotive business to meet customer specific booking targets. You and your team will engage with the customer in an early stage to create business opportunities and drive these opportunities with healthy commercials to award.

 
Your Team

This position leads a team of Sales for China market supporting Harman Strategic Business Units (SBU) projects and future automotive products for Toyota China.

What You Will Do

Build, maintain and drive the customer strategy for existing and new business opportunities with Toyota China in alignment with the customer account strategyMonitor competitive activities with the customer and keep the business informed and define/execute appropriate defensive measuresBuild and execute 10 years plan working with global members within CAM Toyota as China Sales LeadDrive growth strategy of Toyota / CG Japan with CAM lead and leadership teamIdentify and create new pursuits and drive early engagement activities including “war gaming” and 10 standardsOwn RFI/RFQ response for new business opportunities and be responsible for the quote as well as for commercial sourcing negotiations with the customerCreate game-changing unique selling proposition and value statementsUnderstand customer expectations (cost, requirements, timing) and define internal targets to meet themIdentify key stakeholders and decision makers within Toyota China and develop strategies to win new businessLead and develop China Business within CAM Toyota as highly engaged sales director, guide and educate the membersIn future execute the HR cycle activities including hiring, performance management, succession planning, coaching and development

What You Need

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering10+ years of related sales experience, at least 3 years in Automotive ideally with T-Company and at least 3 years in / for ChinaMust have a thorough understanding of Japanese Automotive OEM’s organization and processesThorough understanding of P&L statements, business cases and quotes / contracts with automotive OEMsStrong hunting and negotiation skillsExperience developing and executing a strategyStrong verbal and written communication skills in English

What is Nice to Have

3 years leading a Sales OrganizationTechnical understanding of Automotive HW and SW systems in the area of car audio, infotainment, connectivity (5G/BT/WIFI) and ADASExperience within or working with ToyotaCommunication skills in Chinese

What Makes You Eligible

Be willing to travel up to 50%, domestic and international travel (Japan and China, or China and Japan)Be willing to work in an officeSuccessfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
