Your New Role: 
The Director, Platform Engineering will lead and oversee the platform engineering efforts within the Service Management department, focusing on ServiceNow implementations and global service delivery. This role will be based in Hyderabad and will manage a team comprising a Scrum Master and several Development Leads, each leading their own development teams. The Director will ensure alignment with company strategies and goals, fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence. 

 

Your Role Accountabilities: 

OPERATIONS/PROJECT MANAGEMENT 

Oversee the management and delivery of platform engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. 

Manage service requests from the company and non-technical stakeholders, overseeing the request pipeline to prioritize and allocate resources effectively. 

Lead coordination between cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution. 

Develop and maintain governance frameworks to support operations and project initiatives. 

Act as the primary point of contact for engineering issues within the local team, providing leadership and resolving issues as they arise. 

Ensure compliance with internal and external standards and regulations across all projects. 

Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and integration of systems and practices. 

Oversee and manage one Scrum Master and 3-4 Development Leads (each of whom has their own teams of 4-5 developers) 

STRATEGY 

Develop and implement strategic technological initiatives that align with the broader business goals of the organization. 

Collaborate with senior management to integrate platform engineering strategies with the company's overall business strategy. 

Innovate and implement system improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of service management operations. 

Collaborate with international counterparts to align engineering strategies and practices across global locations. 

Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the engineering domain. 

Represent the local engineering team in strategic planning meetings and provide insightful feedback and leadership. 

 

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT 

Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, business units, and external partners. 

Facilitate communication and collaboration between the Service Management department and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of service management initiatives. 

Work with Business Unit, Corporate, and T&O stakeholders to promote the benefits of Service Architecture and Design and gain buy-in. 

Collaborate with business and T&O stakeholders to understand their Service Management needs and ensure alignment with portfolio objectives. 

ANALYTICS 

Utilize data-driven insights to guide decision-making processes and enhance operational efficiencies. 

Oversee the analysis of project outcomes and the development of process improvements based on analytical findings. 

Champion the use of advanced analytics and data modeling tools to optimize performance and predict future challenges. 

Ensure quality across all engineering processes and outputs. 

Qualifications & Experiences: 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 

10+ years of experience in engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams. 

Proven track record of managing large, complex projects with technology and engineering components. 

Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive team performance and foster a collaborative work environment. 

Proven experience in a leadership role within engineering or a related field, preferably in a multinational company. 

Excellent understanding of engineering principles, especially in service management systems and architectural frameworks. 

Experience in strategic planning and execution of technology roadmaps. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and lead teams effectively across diverse cultures. 

 

Not Required but preferred experience: 

Experience working with ServiceNow, platform engineering, and global service delivery. 

Prior experience in a multinational corporation as a senior leader or director in a global setting, especially within Asia. 

Experience with cloud technologies, big data analytics, cybersecurity, project management, and engineering management. 

Proficiency in Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes. 

Leadership experience in a geographically dispersed team. 

Proven track record of innovation in technology management and implementation.
