Role Summary:
Responsible for FCD Houston's site (previously MOGAS) the Plant Director manages and directs directing all manufacturing activities a plant or production process, including production, materials, quality control, and manufacturing engineering, to produce products in the most cost-effective way, while meeting shipping requirements and sales commitments. Plant may be a stand-alone facility or a relatively independent unit within a larger site.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Lead Operations Management, Operational Excellence, Safety, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Engineering, and plant Procurement functions
Establish processes to ensure manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed requirements for EHS, cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness
Drive plant breakthrough operational performance by increasing productivity and reducing cost, lead-time and inventory while delivering a quality product complete and on-time to the customer
Continuously improve customer satisfaction through improved product quality First Pass Quality and On Time In Full
Implement and deliver a continuous improvement environment/culture
Develop key metrics to measure the plants performance and aligning area key performance metrics with overall platform goals; organizing resources to deliver on these metrics
Support new product launches and other manufacturing projects/initiatives
Oversee financial and cost management processes to ensure delivery against performance targets
Develop requests for capital and implement in accordance with approved plans
Partner with peers in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Footprint, HSE, Planning and Engineering etc.
Develop and recommend annual and multi-year strategic manufacturing plans, capital, and special projects
Manage resource productivity to result in manufacturing and material cost reductions
Meet or exceed On-Time Delivery (OTD) standards
Own and reduce past due backlog using a continuous / solutions drive approach
Requirements:
BS or BA Degree in relevant field
10+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong record of safety performance in a manufacturing plant
Plant Management/Operations experience in low volume / high mix environment of similar size and scale
Asset intensive, discrete manufacturing experience across various manufacturing functions, such as manufacturing, engineering, CIP, supply chain, quality, EHS, and related
Experience in materials management, supply chain, inventory control, planning and/or logistics
Experience in a manufacturing to order (must) or engineered-to-order (preferred) environment
Track record meeting/exceeding KPI’s in manufacturing cost reduction and productivity improvement, EHS and related
Track record implementing continuous improvement / lean initiatives for YoY results
Experience developing and managing budgets, schedules, capital expenditure plans with an understanding of the financial implications of operational strategies
Proven leadership and people management skills – ability to foster effective relationships amongst manufacturing teams
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Master's degree is a plus
Experience / market knowledge in valves a plus
Lean/6-Sigma certification a plus
Experience working in an SAP environment desirable
