Director – Planning Technology

This role requires a leader in enabling the complex processes that lead to a dynamic product mix in the marketplace and across the globe.  This role will focus on ensuring the technology is in place to enable having the right product at the right location at the right time for our brands by providing innovative and creative solutions.  The Director of Planning Technology will ensure that all tools, technologies and solutions enable our Global and Brand Planning functions to meet the ever changing dynamics across the various brands and product categories within VF, as well as empower our Regional Commercial teams to execute on their strategies across eComm, Retail and Wholesale channels.

What you will do:

Partner with Global Supply Chain, Brand Planning and Commercial leaders to define the technology strategies supporting VF’s Planning capabilities

Lead the implementation and standardization of planning technology across all aspects of planning including; Forecasting, Demand, Supply, Capacity, Materials, Merch Financial Planning, Assortment, Allocation and Replenishment

Drive engagement with external consulting firms and technology providers to assess and select how and where to leverage technology along with a focus on people and process in order to ensure successful transformations

Lead a global, distributed team with highly matrixed resources to understand, drive and deliver technology solutions

Develop multi-year technology roadmaps and associated program budgets

Lead teams in the execution against technology roadmaps, delivering new tools and technology that empower our brands and supply chain to have the right product in the right place, at the right time, for the best available cost

Support and drive the definition and organizational change management related to best in class and consistent planning practices across brands and regions that are supported by the tools and technology being deployed

Drive the execution of multi-year programs to roll-out technology solutions across our brands and regions building a common platform of tools that are used globally

Build out high-caliber teams to deliver and support best in-class technology solutions

Proactively research new technologies, tools and processes to drive the planning technology roadmap with supply chain and regional brand operations teams

Demonstrate executive level leadership with demonstrable ability and experience in influencing senior executives in matrixed organizations

 

How you will do it:

Work collaboratively with supply chain, brand and commercial leaders to create the vision and help drive adoption of the technology your team delivers

Partner with Product Supply, and other downstream corporate functions to help design and implement standardized tools and processes that support an efficient and cost-effective planning process across the enterprise

Act as a technology and change champion to drive excitement, and adoption of new tools and ways of working that further move the organization to truly digital processes across all aspects of planning

Demonstrate ability in influencing leadership and resources in matrixed organizations to drive complex multi-brand initiatives forward while harmonizing technology and processes across brands and regions

 

Years of Related Professional Experience: 10+ years

 

Educational/ Position Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Design, or related area

Master’s degree is preferred

10+ years related work experience in technology management, with experience specializing in planning technology, preferably in the footwear or apparel industry

Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues is critical

Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience deploying complex applications across a globally distributed organization

Experience with solution delivery and business process engineering and design in a global organization

Expert level consulting and deep understanding of design and architecture of global solutions

Ability to travel to brand locations both domestically and internationally is required

Hiring Range:

$172,000.00 USD - $215,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
