Location/Division Specific InformationOur Materials and Structural Analysis business helps customers accelerate drug discovery and development by delivering innovative microscopy, spectroscopy and microanalysis solutions, such as world-class scanning and transmission electron microscopes, DualBeam™ FIB-SEMs, and spectrometers, combined with advanced software suites. We span across the business areas of visualization software, semiconductor, life sciences, and material sciences, as well as global support functions like commercial sales, service, operations, research and development, advanced technologies and marketing.Location: USA remote, Hillsboro (OR) preferred.
How will you make an impact?As a Director of Regional Pharma Sales, EMEA/NA, you will support the growth of the Life Sciences Electron Microscopy business, specifically within Pharma accounts, within the Materials and Structural Analysis Division, by driving sales through lead generation and sales execution. Intellectual curiosity and passion to deliver results will provide the opportunity to grow within the team, as well as across the Thermo Fisher organization.What you will do:Deliver financial targets by driving pipeline creation, making market, expanding electron microscopy adoption with existing Pharma customers, and enabling new users as well as new accounts by working with the Business Unit marketing teams and Global Life Sciences Sales Director on strategies to deploy in EMEA and NA.Drive the Sales execution (1-2 years scope) of the overall commercial strategic Pharma plan of the Thermo Fisher Electron Microscopy Life Sciences Business.Manage the EMEA and NA Pharma Sales and Sales development teams, focusing on Global Pharma accounts and key account strategies across regionsCollaborate with the Life Sciences Pharma Business development directors and set up practical methods to roll out pipeline growth campaigns that support the strategic plan.Perform weekly pipeline reviews and report out to the Life Sciences management team.Influence business strategies based on analysis of market trends, customer requirements, and competitive strategy, and finding opportunities for growing customer and business value through product positioning and differentiation.Share timely feedback with product marketing management about market trends and competitive updatesHow you will get hereEducationAcademic Degree in life sciences or chemistry, advanced degree preferredExperience in Pharma drug discovery/development environment preferred.Experience10+ years of professional experience selling into Pharma/ environment is a must3 to 5 years of Sales management experience requiredExpertise in sales of high value capital equipment (>$250k) in Pharma accountsProven expertise in managing sales team with $25M plus dollar targetsTrack record of building relationships, delivering results and making ethical decisionsAble to operate in culturally different and diverse environmentsExperience with customer relation management systems (CRM’s)Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesDeep knowledge of the Pharma commercial landscape.Large account management experienceAbility to grow the share of wallet at existing accountsAbility to generate pipeline and business opportunity leadsAbility to sell strategic and new products to existing and new customersAbility to synthesize and integrate customer and colleague insights, draw conclusions/implications, and translate information into product requirements, portfolio strategies, and business recommendations.An authentic leader that holds themself and others accountableCollaborate with, and nurture positive relationships with multi-national and cross-functional matrix teamsMeeting or exceeding pipeline and bookings targetsExcellent presentation and interpersonal skillsAbility to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the timeBenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, an annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
